Thinking about overhauling what was a gas 'living flame' fire in my lounge to an open fire.

Victorian property so no lining in the chimney and inevitably the mortar in the chimney will be shot so will need to get a flue liner fitted.

Ball park what sort of money are we talking to get this type of work done?

Any recommendations for fitters? Based North of Liverpool.

Thanks in advance.

Um.... General Discussion relating to Mercedes or General motoring ONLY.

If you were going to install in the passenger seat, you'd get a lot of replies I'm sure

depends if you are going concrete, pumped concrete, spray on or stainless steel. Various prices depending on system, double skinned stainless seems to be the preferred way these days which is the route I went but that was a good many years ago so not up to date on current pricing

We have 4 woodburners at Camerafodder towers. 3 are in existing georgian fireplaces with flues which were already lined by the previous owners who used a firm of specialists that pumped in a mixture of cement and vermiculite. This the best and most permanent method. The fourth fireplace is in the hallway and that utilises twin wall stainless flue. I bought the parts from www.fluedirect.co.uk.
