Just noticed that the second car on my Admiral Multicar policy did not have my NCB protected , strange when the other car has ??

Contacted (online via webchat) Admiral and said it would be an extra £3 to have vehicle two protected which i thought was fair , however there is a £26 admin fee for doing it via the web chat facility - no option really as this change cannot be done online through the policy "edit" facility.

So just a heads up , if you have an Admiral Multicar policy just check that all your vehicles have their NCB protected .

I'd just ring them up and tell them that you're happy to pay the £3 to make the change but ask them to waiver the £26 admin fee as that is a rip off. I used to be with Admiral and did this a few times when changing my plates. In my experience they used to give in pretty quickly, they rely on people just accepting the fee.

Did the plate change , online , and there was no charge.

Changed my vehicle , online , and there was a £13 admin charge on top of the increased premium.

But a £26 for a £3 policy change is nothing short of an absolute rip off.

No chance of calling them as that was what i was initially doing but was on hold for ages so decided to try the webchat facility and managed to get through straight away , surprisingly.

They're charging you £26 admin fee to speak to a chat bot?

No she was a very nice Indian lady , going by her name - Srinivas.

Or a very nice Chat-bot , hard to tell now-a-days.

It’s a male name.

Every year I do the admiral challenge, they send me a renewal for 3 vehicles, I dont like the quote, phone call as early in the morning as possible and then the tally begins, never yet failed to get the quoted price back down to what I paid the previous year and this year it was below the previous year. I also do the combing the net for better prices, but i've yet to find a better deal. Also just checked all 3 vehicles are protected.

Thanks to KennyN for the heads up 👍

I have two cars and our house on a multi policy. Was with Admiral for several years until the got silly with the premium, and wouldn’t budge, whatever I tried. LV= came in several hundreds cheaper. But I await this year (December) renewal with dread…

Tried again to get 'multi' quotes, absolute joke!! No incentive whatsoever! Far cheaper doing them all individually

That’s unusual, who was that with and which models?

I agree with BobbyD I've been on a multi car policy for some years and it's always been cheaper than singular.

When I bought a third car, I started using a multi-car policy but wasn't long before I realised it really wasn't much cheaper. Only thing it did do was match my no claims when I moved to individual policies so a car insured for a year ended up with several years come renewal time.

The whole admin fee thing is rather infuriating though. More infuriating that you do it yourself and it's likely done automatically for them, not like someone sitting and inputting the data. Like when you pay a booking fee for show/gig tickets when you did it all via their website.
