I recently purchased a Mercedes W164 2007 ML420 cdi.

Issue 1 -
It didn't come with the bluetooth cradle so I've purchased one and it lights up blue and my phone connects but when I click the TEL button on head unit it says no phone

Issue 2 -
My reversing camera doesn't seem to work. I've checked fuse and it hasn't blown.

Issue 3 -
Sat nav only seems to work when the dvd is in, other same aged ML's I've been in dont need the dvd in for the sat nav to work.

Issue 4 -
I have a 6 cd changer in my glove box, it won't let me insert cds I've held the numbered buttons down for few seconds and I've pressed them but they don't light up.

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you

Welcome.

I can only answer the question regarding the Navigation DVD. Your pre-facelift 2007 W164 is equipped with COMAND NTG2 which requires that the Navigation DVD containing the maps data is inserted in the unit and kept there at all times.

Later models (from around the 2008/2009 facelift) were equipped with the newer COMAND NTG2.5 unit, that had an internal 40gb HDD onto which the maps data is copied-over from the installation DVD. This unit also had an optional built-in DVD-changer which replaced the external CD-Changer in the glove compartment.

Thanks for that Mark.

If the cd changer on the glove box worked i wouldn't mind leaving the sat nav dvd in haha. Some reviews regarding the cd changer say that cds can be stuck and it needs taking out and the cover taking off to remove the cd, so will try this at the weekend.

Cheers

Have you paired your 'phone to the cradle /head unit?

The code is 62872.

Yes I am connect to the cradle. When my phone rings or I ring out it connects to the cradle but doesn't show on the head unit and doesn't come through the speakers.
I have to then turn bluebooth off to answer or make a call.

That looks like NTG1, the DVD is needed for the Sat Nav at all times.

You wont be able to make calls without a Visioo BlueTooth adaptor, the standard bluetooth is to only copy your contacts.

This is the bluetooth cradle I've got.
