What would it take to mute the radio when selecting reverse?

Looks like a device to switch ground is needed.
Anyone have any info on this?

Why would the radio need to be muted whilst reversing?

Cannot think of many reasons. Sneakin' up on someone.
As much concentration going forward is required as going backwards. If the radio is a distraction going backwards it must be a major issue going forwards.
Is it to hear the "thump" as you hit the rear wall of the garage when you know you are "home"?

All moden cars now do it, is so you can here the sensors bleeping.
Even a ford festa mutes the sounds.

Yep, I'd be interested in a solution too - on mine, once the reverse is selected and display switches to rear camera, the mute button* is disabled :dk:, so if music was at a normal level, I can hardly hear parking sensors beeping.

* Whoever came up with this 'elegant feature' must be insane :wallbash:
