'00 W202 Classic Selection (or is it?)
My car has failed its MOT under the new rules introduced in May 2018, because it has a retrofitted Brabus exhaust (now a nuisance noise under 8.1.1 (a)....).
I'm not inclined to have an original W202 exhaust re-fitted in order to pass the MOT and would like to gauge if there is any interest from members in taking the car off my hands, whether for breaking or sorting out the MOT issues.
There has been a slight problem for a year or so with response from the accelerator when the engine is cold. I had the air mass meter replaced but that hasn't really helped. When the engine warms up, it runs fine.
I have two electronic keys but only one of them still works.
Current MOT expires on Sunday 28 April. It also needs a new front tyre.
Current mileage is 149100. Last serviced 13 months ago at 146205 miles.
I've owned the vehicle since 2002 and have done many mods. It's been garaged overnight for the last 9 years. These photos are a few years old but the general condition is still very good, just a slight increase in rust (wheel arches & bonnet) - albeit still not particularly noticeable and far less than you see on most W202s of this age:

Hi all, as a result of further developments today, it looks more likely I'll be keeping the car a while longer now. Thanks to all members who contacted me about it - if things don't pan out as expected, I'll let you know.
