My appology to alot of members

212 the recall king, latest, steering rack recall

4/10 for me,

roll on November it will be gone

- the rear view cameras distortion from true image is quite shocking

I found that. It adds a kind of fish-eye perspective to it as it's off-set to one side I think. You will get used to it, as I have, and learn that slightly angled on the screen is in fact straight :)

Dare I say the new 5 series would be my choice over the 212, my boss has one with the M-tec body kit and I must admit it does look really good and feels quality!

Sytner Harold Wood : 5 SERIES DIESEL SALOON 535d M Sport 4dr Step Auto

Having test drove 2 w212's for 24hrs a 250 CDi and a 220CDi I preferred my previous 211, I also agree with Steve *** the seating is way too high and I wasn't feeling the exterior much, they do look allot better with the AMG kit though!

anyway good luck and enjoy your new toy, main thing is you like it!:thumb:

I can't understand your comment re seats being too high -or ***'s. The seat's height is fully adjustable over a range which my tape measure shows is almost identical to the 211 E class. You can lower the seat till you are almost sitting on the floor though why anyone would want to do that is beyond me. Personally I like to sit higher up looking through approx the middle of the screen and where the sun visor works well when needed. If anything I thought the seat could be set higher.

I had a 220cdi 212 for a day and did a few hundred miles. Impressive in most respects. The performance of the 220cdi is quite sufficient for most people and this will continue to be one of the best sellers. With about twice the motorway speed limit available and lots of acceleration to match from the twin turbos, I felt the four pots will easily outsell the sixes. The 250, especially, offers heaps more power than most will ever need on the UK's crowded roads. And like *** I prefer the 5 speed box.

The 212 seemed best to me with the smaller wheels. The optional bigger ones greatly increase road noise and give a harsher ride. I still prefer the looks of the 211, and the interior, but the 212 does drive well and the looks grow on you.

I do that because that's how I feel comfortable.

Maybe the windowline is lower or th seat bracket is taller.
