Well I've managed to find myself another gem... This one isn't so clean or as desirable as the w124 I picked up last month. My car collection is getting a tad out of hand.

So this is a ml430 and I am almost certain it's a genuine brabus. Can anyone confirm this. It's been sat for a while but the owner was a great guy and sold me a lovely car. The v8 noise is unreal out of that brabus system. I'm sure it's got upgraded brabus brakes aswell...

    Plans:
    Mot
    Wheels refurb
Address the rust issue on the n/s front door
    Machine polish
    Detailed
And that's it for a minute..

    Nice looking ML, congrats.

The brakes look standard to me which is not a bad thing given the cost of Brabus consumables. As far as I know they only fitted upgrades brakes to 5.8 and 6.1L versions of their cars but it's worth sending your VIN to them to see the total list of upgrades the car has.

    Nice find :thumb:

Thanks mate worth knowing, compared to my old ml320 they are much bigger brake discs and callipers. Does anybody know a decent contact in Brabus uk that would be happy to help?

Just email Brabus in Germany with the VIN they will tell you the exact work they did on the car, they were brilliant when I checked mine out, emailed a full printout of work done, dealer it was shipped to etc. Contact details are on the website. :thumb:

Wow. That looks like a very clean barn to me !!

How many chicken nests did you have to clean from it? I bet the field mice had a few nests too hey? And oh my god did you have to extricate any rats as I know they live in barns and love to take over.

I really don't envy you in your quest to rid your real barn find of all the critters living in it mate !! Good luck.

If the original Brabus kick plates are missing and you want some, then let me know - I have a brand new set still in the original box.

Thanks for your infamous wisdom on barns there! However, no rats or mice to be seen especially not in or near this one.

I might be needing them, the old ones are looking tired but I need to get an MOT first

Also found the original bill of sale.
£7500 spent on a brabus upgrade.

Also a load of MB dealer service history

Update: fresh 12 months mot, gearbox oil top up, new rear brake lines, srs fault sorted, exhaust brackets sorted. Next on the list is to address the small bit of rust on the door, maybe a wheel refurb and sell it on for somebody else to enjoy. I guess as I'm not busy at the moment this is a small hobbie of mine.

It can be rewarding to invest time and effort bringing a car back to its best.

However, you are not planning on keeping this car and with your plans for rust repairs and wheel refurbishment I think there is a danger that you will be spending money for the next owner's benefit and won't see this outlay reflected in the sale price.
