My battle cruiser !

An excellent motor! You must come to one of our Meetings (there's bound to be one in the summer).
Thanks for your comments, it is a great car . It has got 272 bhp , so although not an E500 it is quick and I've got the benefit of right hand drive.

A drive through France last year was a very comfortable and fast even with a roof box ( i didn't want to know about the fuel economy !)

I was looking for an E320 or S320 when I came across the car and wasn't quite sure what it was. Since doing a bit of research and managing to get an original sales catalogue on Ebay I have found that it was a very limited production car . The saloons with reasonable spec like mine went for around £54,000 and then up to £70k+ for the coupes/cabriolets.

I saw one advertised in auto-trader last week in silver which for £12,750 with a few less miles than mine, I think it has been in a while .

Wonder why AMG never thought of putting the Economy needle on. Also, I was surprised to see that the rev counter only goes up to 7000rpm. My stock 1990 300CE-24 goes right up to 8000rpm, and has the econo-swinger.

But, hey - I am not dissin' your car. Its absolutely gorgeous :) Very, very nice example of a great 124.

Dont suppose you have any engine photos do you?

I haven't got any engine photos yet but I will add some, the engine looks identical to the C36. I believe the instrument display is straight from 94-95 E class. There are some oddities like the spare wheel being an 8 hole 16" wheel.
The AMG wheels are 17" , the handbook says " don't drive at high speed !"

Absolutley, always did like Pam Aires, a lady with sense. Then there is the other Pam (my). Hmmm better go walk the dog. :D

Cool Car

Nice motor, them's just the sort of wheels I'm after. Now I've seen what a saloon looks like with 'em on I'm more convinced it's the way to go. Now, where did I plant that money tree???

Sym, my mate also has a W210 E36, they did make them, but not many!

E36 vs C36

I have found an article in CAR Magazine (June 1996) comparing the C36 and E36 models.

The C36 was shown as £42,050 - 280bhp and 284lb ft at 4000rpm, the E36 £53,500 - 272bhp and 284lb ft at 4250.

They prefered the E36 - both cars shown in Silver and on N registrations.

:bannana:

So - does this mean we shall be seeing an E36 vs C36 showdown at Santa Pod...

Seriously, though, have any forum members dragged their cars in a friendly competition? Were the results surprising?

I took on a 210 E55 a couple of months ago. I lost. I wasn't surprised :)
