One of my hobbies - watches.

This Breitling (Aerospace Avantage) purchased just over 6 months ago, is supposed to be accurate to 15 sec per year, so anorak that I am I set it as accurately as possible exactly 6 months ago.

Come the six month mark and I was delighted to see that it is currently running within 0.25 sec (probably better), so will be well within a second per year. I can't be more specific because everything is "tested" by eye.

Or I could wear the watch my entire life and never have to adjust it - scary thought.

Is that a quartz model?

I always thought the 'classic' timepieces/chronometers are all based on fancy mechanical movements???

nice watch! been thinking of purchasing a Breitling,
but unsure of either upgrading or trading to a different make! :s

Quite correct, although the challenge with quartz was to go the "extra mile" which is where the "hyper" "super" etc (add own hyperbole) quartz movements come in - being temperature compensated so as to be very accurate. These also qualify for COSC certificates unlike lesser quartz watches, also relatively rare in itself.
Currently less than 5% of all COSC certificates are quartz and all of them Breitling

I suppose the ultimate would be temp compensated quartz with solar or kinetic power - no battery to change

There`s a chance of a vintage Cosmonaute coming my way soon, too.

I also like Panerai.
Its got to be mechanical for me - the interaction of winding them being part of the appeal.

Today,i am mostly wearing an Omega Seamaster GMT.

very nice esox!

Can't wear them.
Give me your watch to wear for a day and it'll stop.
Don't know why.

Stunning watches! Love Breitling. I'm going to be a kid in a sweetshop next month. I'm art directing a photoshoot for "the world's best watch collection" brochure. Can't tell you who it's for (client privacy) or I'd have to kill you all. But I will be surrounded by Breitlings, Omegas, Longines and Rados. Might try swapping over a Casio and see if they notice? It would be the blooper edition of Hustle.

no rolexs :(

Is men with watches like women with handbags? Coz I dont get it:crazy: I have a few watches for different occassions but nothing like what's being touted here. I have a diamond trimmed Armani for going out. A bling Folli Follis generally for work, and did have an everyday DKNY until I sprained it on the washing machine door:( but that's it and they'll do me nicely until one needs replacing.:p

it is for me heheheheee - long story to how my obsession to them started lol :S

LOL

Yeah handbags are rubbish...get a Breitling :bannana:

You can't carry your lippy, money or phone in a watch:o :D :D whereas a bag will carry your phone which has a clock on it - so one can tell the time, and usually a camera too, plus all the little essentials a girl needs.:D
