I have been offered 10K for my C180 and I said no.... I started looking at prices and a basic C180 with about 80-100K on the clock and 3 owners can be picked up for 6K

My car has 51K on the clock now and I am the second owner....

if the guy offered me 12K-13K then I may have struck a deal.. I think i am gonna be the big looser ... I spent about 7-8K on it since buying it :S

Probably a wise choice Koolvin A good way to judge is to see whats available for 10k and compare them cars to yours and you'll probably see that yours is a much better car and you know the history and that its in impecable workin order and not another on the road identical.

Koolvin,

To be honest, I would be very suprised if you got 12-13K for your car.

The value of your customisations and upgrades is nothing like what you paid for them. The impecable history, is also going to still be worth more to you.

Don't get me wrong - I love your car - I am not saying it isn't worth that to you, just not to a prospective buyer.

I would say you are only going to get £2K max over an above the normal value of a low mileage A1 mint C180, with the main selling point being the Sat. Nav install.

Have you thought of looking to see how much money Concours standard cars sell for? I am guessing there are probably magazines or websites that specialise?

The question you have to ask is:

Am I bored with my car and do I need to sell it to finance the next one?

If the answer is yes, get rid for the best price you can. If not keep the car you love and have worked hard on.

K,

I’d be very interested to know what car you would buy to replace your beloved 180, have you got you got something in mind?

Any chance of running two cars and taking the 180 to the grave with you?

Mechatronic gmbh in DE will drop an S500 engine and tranny into a c180 (as well as suspension and brake mods), they used to make c500s when the c43 first came out because no-one could afford the c43

SL500 of course 129 series... or the new CLK500

realisticly speaking probably a facelift SL320 129 Series or a C43 AMG
