my c220 cdi keeps going into limp mode pls help

hi all can someone help me ive bought a new car and was told it needs a new air flow sensor. i bought a new one put it on but still get the same problem the car wont rev up no more than 3000 rev but when i switch it of and back on it goes fine then back to limp mode 20 seconds later pls help

Is the sensor a bosch one? If its a cheap one, i would be tempted to try a bosch one before anything else.

Just seen other posts, would be good to consolidate.

It is likely to have a Peirburg maf fitted as standard. Have you had the codes read?

i brought a new peirburg sensor but still got the same problem, taking it for diagnoses tomorrow hopefully i can find a code thanks
