Hi,
As some of you are aware my AMG is being resprayed at the moment at long last as it has been long overdue, it is being done in a local mainstream body shop, its been there the past 4 weeks and is due back very soon :bannana:
Heres a few shots that the body shop has taken for me, as I feel sure some people maybe interested.

Lots of Mercedes!
They really need to seal up those doors otherwise you will be trying to vaccuum the dust out of the crevices in the interior for the rest of your ownership!

And some more

The last two pics show rust in around the front windscreen aperature, this prompted the bodyshop to ring me, as the screen needed to come out to do the job properly.

Yes its definetly staying green/black, I to love this colour.
Good point Jay and I thought that myself and I have been assured by the shop the car will be fully valeted before I get it back, also i,m not sure in what order the pics were taken as in later shots the doors are all off of he car.

looking guuuuuuuud Andy. :thumb:
nomore winter driving for you with this car!

tell me when the painter sanded your rear bumper, was all parking sensors removed when they painted the bumper?
they were not fitted on while bumper getting painted?

sensors do they come separately with an outer plastic washer fitted to the bumper and then sensor being screwed onto bumper from the innerside of the bumper?

I really don,t know how the sensors are fitted in the bumpers as I have not seen it for nearly four weeks and I have never removed any of the sensors before myself.
The painter text me tonight to tell me he has started painting the base coat and clear on the doors and the new front wing, and he is going into work tomorrow to hopefully finish it.

looking good cant wait too see the end result

are you getting it wet sanded and polished once painted to get the glass a glass shine all the time no more orange peel

it just means they need to put a few extra coats of lacquer on to do that step

A good painter will not bounce the paint causing orange peel, flattening before top coat(lacquer) is matter of course for the Lacquer to bond and give true colour.

Looking forward to seeing the results Andy, and am sure you are too!
