Hi Guys

Well I thought it was about time I gave an update on my baby now that its nearly a year since I first walked into that dealership, put that pen to paper and signed on the dotted line.

Its now 8 months since I picked my C63 up to which I know most of you know due to all the winging and moaning I gave on here from the 4 month waiting time to collection. Well where do I stand now and how has the car been? Since I collected her I have topped her up with a litre of Mobil 1, two rear tyres and lots of money spent on premium unleaded ;). As a piece of advice make sure you always get a specialised to fit any tyres on your car and not a bunch of monkeys like I had who decided to leave tyre irons across my wheel and adding several (granted they are small) scratches to the left rear. To say I was peeved was an understatement.

I haven't had any problems with the car at all and everything is working as it should be with no added squeaks, rattles or bits falling off her. The only issue I could mention was nearly ripping the front bumper off back in April which was my fault :doh:but have had that fixed and all looking good again. I had the stage 1 tune done back in March and am still really pleased with the end result and would have that done straight away again if I come to order another 63. The stats spoke for themselves when it was finished with by MRC Tuning and my cars stats came out as 513 bhp (520 ps) and 650 nm torque. Love it, what an animal....:D

As you know I caught the Rashman syndrome which hasn't wavered and I have had Rob (my detailer) top up the protection on the bodywork with his excellent approach to detailing. I have to say that she has a few additional stone chips on the bonnet, 3 the last time I cleaned her but that is to be expected and there is not much I can do about that. Washed every week with 2 washes of snow foam, 1 wash with maguires pre wash and finished off with a wash with Nanolex, soft towel wipe down with a finishing wax spray such as reload and covered during the week when not in use. It has now become an obsession and am awaiting Rash to finally give me his seal of approval! LOL.... only kidding bud!

She has now covered 5,500 miles and the thing I have really noticed over the past month or so is the way the exhaust note seems to have got louder since eveything is now bedded and run in, and the way she pulls seems a lot harder than say 3 months ago. I just cant get bored with that V8 and the noise she makes. I have to say and even my wife addmitted that this has to be the most practical car I have ever owned and the reason is that we can go out as a family very comfortably with the kids and in comparison to the DB9 I was going to get I know I made the perfect choice in the C class.

If I wanted to be really picky, I would say that the drivers seat wear is not that great but have been using products that was advised to me by Palmball and this has helped keep that matt look and new look to the leather. Hes a good man!....Also the Iphone connectivity was not really thought out properly but I think thats more Apples fault than MBs. The reason I say this as I now know how to re connect for services when you need to ring out on the iphone and its all to do with the phone. Other than this I can't fault the car in any way.

Anyway I am looking forward to seeing some of you on the 13th at Goodwood and hope that the good weather stays with us for that day and also for reading my drissle.

All the best

Now about those Pilot SuperSports you said you can get for £150.....

I have done 11500 in mine, only problem was a substandard carbon mirror from the factory and a shot oil cooler.

No rattles or squeaks which has really surprised me as the CLS had a fair few.

But booked it in for a service and the dealer is offering a free wheel refurb which I sadly need.

1 complete new set of tyres all round, 8litres of Mobil 1 (due to oil cooler I think), a boot liner and replacement fog lamp is all it has needed.

Fastest car I have every owned and definitely makes me smile every morning I start it.

One of the few cars I just 'go for a drive' in....

Similar experience with mine. No faults or rattles. Just lots of fun and loads of fuel. I've done over 15,000 miles in mine this year and although this is a lot, I will be doing nothing like it in year 2.

Best car I've ever owned......

Hi Si

Fronts £150 and rears £250..... It's a friend at work who knows someone that owns a tyre place. Don't know him but he priced them for my mate for when I want them. I just put a couple of yoko's on the rears for now for the track day next week.

:D +1, always looking for a reason to drive !

Benjy,

Nice of you to take the time to write this update - we know you love your baby, so glad it is a happy story. See you soon.

Nice write up. AMGs are great all-round performance cars - I want one!

Great :thumb: 2 new tyres needed after 5,500 miles :) - Good to hear it's being driven properly. I too never get fed up of the V8 growl

Nice report Henry
looking forward to meeting up on Saturday
they are not bad cars - ive had worse..:D

Yes I also get a squeak on the breaks at low speeds when they are not warmed up but I don't let it bother me. Anyway we'll soon be warming them up come Saturday at Goodwood next week and that'll stop any low speed squeaks... LOL

You are obsessive. Anything else going on in your life? Or just your car?

Ha ha ha ha.... thats what happens when you hang around Rash too much.

Nope the car, my obsession for RC Helicopters, Kids, wife and cooking! And not specifically in that order!;)

Take no notice Benjy.

It's a great car and a great write up.

Being happy with a major purchase is a great feeling.

You'd be amazed how green some people's valleys are .
