Afternoon all
I'm just back from a holiday in Europe (Austria) and I took my C63 AMG (final big trip before she goes back ). I just wanted to share a few thoughts on the car and also link a little video showing an acceleration run from 100-300km/h (62-186mph). They're great those Autobahns
The car got a lot more (all positive) interest in both Germany and Austria than it does in the UK. I only saw 2 other C63s over the course of our 2500 mile trip. The car was brilliant throughout, whether it was pottering around continental cities or blasting down the Autobahn (I highly recommend the E45 from Nuremberg to Munich, passing by Ingolstadt if one wishes to 'make progress').
Regarding figures, I saw a comfortable 299km/h whilst seeing off a 640d (and a 335i, and a Panamera etc) however I think this may be the highest the digital speedo goes to as we were still accelerating! Also, and regarding the dreaded economy, I can happily backup my previous statement that the difference between cruising and blasting is marginal. One tank of fuel was consumed driving from Folkestone services, through France, Belgium, Holland and into Aachan in Germany. This was a slow trip due to the speed limits and what not, and we achieved 23.3mpg (calculated). The next tank of fuel was consumed wholly in Germany, and involved cruising at 120mph+, with regular squirts up to 160mph and above (topping out at 186mph due to traffic limitations). This tank of fuel was consumed at a rate of 19.0mpg (also calculated), meaning the difference between bimbling along and properly blasting was a mere 4.3mpg. Interesting!
Anyway, here's a vid to share

Not sure if the embedded video is working...therefore this link also works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGwPDCyUXQU
