Okay so I had the following fault codes came on a couple of weeks ago (I didn't notice anything different while driving):

P0123 "Throttle / accelerator pedal position sensor circuit A high voltage"
P2112 "Throttle Actuator A Control System - Stuck"

I googleed more about it and I read in some forum said that resetting the throttle body could help.

Immediately after the reset, the car will not start. It cranks but does not start, sometimes the RPM goes up a little bit at the beginning and for a moment it seems like it will start but the RPM immediately drops back. I did the reset several more times without any luck.

My car is a Mercedes w204 c220 CDI 2011 with a OM651.911 engine

What could this be about? Thank you in advance!

How did you reset the throttle body?

If you held the accelerator pedal to the floor with the ignition in position Ii then you didn’t actually reset anything, instead you fooled your car into thinking that you were driving it very hard so it started to adapt. It’s unlikely that this would stop the car starting, unless

It sounds like there’s a fault with a sensor. Best get it checked by a specialist with access to Mercedes’ diagnostics systems known as STAR.

Have you cleaned the body before the reset, no point resetting a dirty body, as the plate cannot close properly with dirt in it.

Assuming its the c220 CDI in your sidebar they don't even have a throttle.....like all CDI cars!. What you DO have that looks like a throttle is an anti shudder valve (AKA shutdown valve) which will be fully open when the engine is running most of the time (will partially close to help with EGR air flow under certain conditions). Engine revs are not controlled by it....in a direct injection engine revs are purely controlled by injector pressure and duration. Some tuners remove them completely....but I would not recommend it.....makes for a horrible lumpy thump when you switch off and increases your chances of a runaway engine if you accidently overfill the oil.

That wont help air flow.....but wont stop it starting.....must have quite a lot of oil going through the turbo to be that bad. On my old ALFA it was really clean....I fitted a catch tank and the EGR inlet was past that
valve.
