Like I said, it's changed a lot since I had the issue, I learnt a lot over the last two days and posted on my findings.
I got caught with a categorised car before the VIC system was implemented at the time It was a requirement it was engineer inspected (in my case by a firm called Autolign that then classed it as "Condition Inspected"), that's not the case now...if you read the quote you've cut above that's actually what I stated. How are you reading it?
The car I bought was a Cat C.
EDIT:- Ahh I see where you got confused....no I've never had a VIC done (you assumed by "inspected" I meant VIC), the car I bought was before 2003 when the VIC didn't exist..by inspected, I took it to a specialist engineer who did and extensive inspection and test on the car..make sense now?
Up until yesterday I'd never heard of a VIC....didn't even know it existed.
