My DI Vessel experience..

Having come across this link this week I set following SJ Maxwell's tack by buying the vessel and Resin seperately, (Thanks Steve). I managed to buy two new DI Vessels (15.4L and 4.6L-I plan to operate them in series, they just need the hozelock fittings) for £30 collected from Bishops Stortford.

Seller mentioned he had a couple more sets of these for sale if anyone was interested. His listing remains on Ebay but if you can't find it, PM me and I will pass on his contact details. They won't hang around for long at that price I suspect.

Just ordered a 15.4lt from Daqua ready for the new car.

Out of interest how many washes will you get before the resin needs replacing?

Varies dépendant on water hardness…………seems to be (according to what others have posted) 6-12 months.

Surely this would be dependent on frequency of washes/water throughput as well as water hardness?

I'd probably use it no more than 30 times in a year to rinse the car after washing.

What I'm trying to work out is whether it will be the sort of thing which needs replacing every couple of months or not. Sounds like it has the potential to last a lot longer under the right circumstances.

I already have a 6 stage pumped 150GPD RODI (reverse osmosis, de-ionisation) unit for another hobby of mine, so 0TDS water is plentyful already in my house.

Even if it wasn't, my input TDS here in Manchester is only 50~ppm TDS so pretty pure anyway, meaning I hardly ever have to replace prefilters, carbon block, RO membrane, or DI resin.

:D

Of course it does. I could not, however, remember the frequency of use as posted nor the posters who mentioned it so went with what I could remember.

When I kept my reef I had a similar set up and the amount of waste water to make 1 litre of RO was shocking.
