Seems like it is either the gasket or a crack in the head. Any ideas on how much a new cylinder head for an e200 kompressor 2002 will be ?
Why change the head if it only needs a head gasket??

If the head is cracked or porous it often can be repaired by welding and then planed true. A good engine rebuilder/machine shop should be able to do this. Unfortunately its almost impossible to predict what needs done until the head is off so make sure you entrust the work to an honest garage before you immobilise the car by partly dismantling the engine.
