My E63 has been in the dealer workshop for 5 months...

Evening all, another update. But not a good one I'm afraid...

As you know I sent my letters to Mercedes Milton Keynes head office and the local dealer who have my car. I got a reply from Milton Keynes the same day saying they will look into it for me. This was last week.

Today I had received a phone call from Mercedes Customer Services stating that there is nothing they can do about my situation and they can't offer any compensation for the five months the car has been away. They said my only chance is by sorting this with the actual dealer who have the car...great:doh:

So I called the dealer and they put me through to their after sales manager, who I had previously sent my letter to, with his reply asking if it concerned him. After a long winded conversation, it came to the conclusion that I can only get current trade value for my car or I can have the car back.:wallbash:

It seems to me that my local dealer want nothing to do with it, even though I have bought 4 cars off the Mercedes Retail group within the past 12 months...
I've honestly can't believe that Mercedes won't even give any sort of compensation package for thier c**k up, let alone the refund which I initially requested.

I also know that the dealer had 3 different mechanics on my car, each one of them failing to fix it and taking it back to square one again. Yet I was never even told this.

My next step is to go to the dealer tomorrow and talk to the after sales manager face to face. But I am not happy at all atm!!:mad::mad::mad:

You've made a rod for your own back I believe.

After six weeks you should have been making demands, parts supply issue or not. After that you should have utilised the services of your solicitor while your car was still not repaired. Now it is, end of saga while you've been left with a bad taste in your mouth and been without your car.

And to top it all off there's a good chance you now won't have faith in the repair.

Take it away, sell it and move on with life. Don't use that dealer/buy an MB again.

In the grand scheme of things this isn't something worth losing any sleep over. There are more important things in life like family and health. These things really matter.

I suggest you itemise every expense you have had -inc depreciation of your car in the 5 months , letters sent (£50 each) , time spent (at £x per hour) , phone calls and so on. Then I would approach your solicitor with this and ask how you stand as regards rejecting the car.

Yeah this has been said to me before and i understand that... but i gave the dealership the benefit of the doubt due to my previous good history with them. However, i do think i should have acted sooner rather than now. Thanks

Water under the bridge now.

Far more importantly, where's the photos of the new motor?

True, as previously stated, health etc is more important!

The Continental R would've come if the 63 went!!:( so thats on hold for now... however, i am getting a new A220d AMG Line delivered today lol. :bannana:;)

Is that part of a compensation package or a separate deal?

9th car?

Out of curiosity (and I wonder this about other people with multiple cars also) what do you with all these cars? Are there more family members in your household that drive some of them?

I have two cars and I have to consciously make sure I use both otherwise one will end up sat for a fortnight unused. With 8 or 9 cars I'd have 6 or 7 of them collecting algae for most of the year.

I've rejected a car too and the sales manager was key to the whole thing, she was very very helpful and I couldn't have thanked her more.

I started the ball rolling 2 days after accepting the car and it was all done and dusted within 2 months.

Mind you this was with BMW though. I would buy another car from that particular dealership without thinking twice.

What does he do with them all?

Or does he own a Taxi firm? :D

That's what I thought when j met him.... We worked together at a big consulting firm.

He comes from old money with titles but a totally top guy.. Basically what he earns he gets X times his salary from his family trust. He has a pile of 911s (including 964, 993, 996 turbos), AMGs, XKRs, Subarus, Landies etc but it is his Ferraris I like, especially his half car, shares a F355 Challenge with his brother.

I'm sure there are way bigger and more expensive collections. But it's nice when you find one and they are all turnkey drivers...

I/we get asked this a lot lol. I'm only in my early 20's, i wished i owned all the cars though aha. I own the E63, SLK55, SL55 and CLA220. I alternate the usage of my cars, but the CLA will be parked up on weekends as ill use the AMG's during that time. They get equal use/milage gained throughout the year.

My brothers own a small car dealership of 30ish cars. As personal cars they have the Gt Speed, Panamera, Q7 and A class'.

Then my old man has the E350 AMG Line and an old Bentley Arnage.

The Mirage and Prova Countach are at my brothers unit, as well as the Cosworth. Owned equally between us.

Hope that clears it up:thumb::rock:

I remember the days before mortgages, kids, wives and expensive holidays!! I had a 928 and a Honda type R when I was at Uni!!! Days have changed!!
