Hello,
The time has come to part company with my beloved C280 as a new car is on the horizon and I can't justify keeping it.
It is a 1998 C280 Sport with good condition black leather. I have owned the car for the past 10 months or so.
When I got it I fully serviced it with new filters all round and flushed out the gearbox fluid twice and replaced the diff oil too. I also changed the spark plugs and plug leads too.
In the last 1000 miles I have done another oil and filter change with 5w30 Castrol fully synthetic oil. The oil is very clear and the engine does not use hardly any oil at all.
I have also changed the V Belt, tensioner and idler. I replaced the MAF with a new genuine Bosch unit. I did an AC service also.
On the suspension I have replaced the standard shocks and springs with the highly rated Bilstein B12 kit. I replaced the drag link, front lower suspension arms and front lower ball joints.
The brakes are virtually new all round with the greenstuff pads and some groved Black Diamond discs on the front too. The brake hoses have been replaced with a set of the stainless steel type from Goodridge. The brakes are excellent.
Anything that the car has needed it has had.
I am going to keep the wheels for my next car and the wheels that I will replace them with will be some replica AMG's. There was some rust on the front arches which I have had treated and the whole front end has been re-painted by my bodyshop. I also have a AG grill fitted and a W204 bonnet badge.
The MOT is due in September and I do not forsee any issues there. I have just put 6 monts tax on it too .
Please note: The car will not come with the registration number shown and will go on to its orginal "R" prefix.
I would love it to go to a good home where it will be looked after like I have.
This is my own car and it will not come with ANY warranty as I am not a car trader just a car fixer. It will be sold as seen.
The miliage is 168618 at present but the car is in daily use so will rise a little. The miliage does not reflect the condition. if you are interested you need to come and see it!
The downside is that I have NO history with it at all. But it does seem like the previous owners did look after it as the interior is in excellent condition.
I will be gutted to see it go as it was my first MB after setting up the workshop and I worked really hard to earn the cash to buy it.
I am looking at getting around £2250 for it. If I get no response here it will go on Ebay.
(the rear bumper will be de-stickered too)
