Hi guys,

Just back from my hols in Cran Canaria. It was 26-32 Deg. C if you were interested!   <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

Well I have been to similar locations plenty of times but never as much as a Mercedes fan that I am now.

This trip really turned me into a sad Taxi spotter!

First off all some of the privatley owned MB's were very nice - a R129 500SL and an old E-Class with a full Lorinser kit - it had a complete new bootlid by the look of it it, with an integrated spoiler (not a lip or a duck tail) - sorry no pics.

However it was the taxi's that had me going all week. I used approx. 2 a day and saw many strange customised MB taxis - mostly wheels and steering wheels -  I am not suprised as these proabaly wore out - top mileage I saw was over 940K KM and many others close. I rode in new and old shape E-Class,  mostly estates all of which were all mint regardless of age.

By the end of the week I was spottong which had OEM taxi buttons in the consoles and what other options they had!!  <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':hehe:'>
I also found the extra TAXI console/cluster/binaccle on the top of the dash next to the normal instrument cluster very intersting - very neat and perfect if you need more space for ICE or extra dials  <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

I am catching up on posts, and news - hear the Fire Brigade Strike is still on,

             bye for now!

EDIT: I left UK in very bad fog, returned in it and it is still here this morning - did it actually lift last week???

Alright alright, dont rub it in  <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> . Yes the weather has been total cr*p all week <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> , unlike the glorius baking hot sunny days <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>  and long warm evenings you've had to suffer <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> .

So did you do the banana bop  <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/banana.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':bannana:'>  at the disco?

That extra binnacle is installed on the production line. When I collected my E220CDi from the factory and had the tour, I saw plenty of yellow/cream C and E classes going down the line, all specified as taxis.
