My Lap Around the Nurburgring in a AMG GT R 'Beast of the Green Hell' + Interview With Driver

...Check the G Force meter at the bottom...

It nearly went off the scale a few times ! I loved your 'nervous' laughter too. Not good memories of the ring for me, but I'm pleased you had a good time. How does it make you feel when you watch it back now?

Laughing in the face of death it felt like :)

Im used to spending hours looking at myself/listening to myself editing videos now so it doesn't even embarrass me anymore. I do find it funny seeing the exact point when I realised the danger etc.

My video of me driving my CLS63 with my GF coming soon, it's not fast at all compared to this.

how much is the experience?

€240 + €30 for the footage.

To share any footage on social media you need to apply for a media pass and they have to review it. Which is why it has been delayed.

There was a AMG GT3 experience organised by Renntech (I think) which @Shmee150 attended and filmed. It was scary fast in video.

Great video! Normally things look slower on film so I dread to think how fast that felt in real life! :D Great editing etc!

back in march I had arranged to have a factory tour renntec I contacted them this time and they didn't even reply to any of my emails :(

Cheers, it actually looks slower than it was, my driving video of my own car looks v slow

Looks like it was a lot of fun.

That guy and the Merc made it look effortless.

I did a Palmersport for my 40th and thoroughly enjoyed it - the hot lap in the Jaguar JP-LM was immense fun and I imagine the Merc is much quicker.

That's not a bad price either - I thought it might be more than that.

What a great birthday present, even if you bought it for yourself. That looked great fun even if a bit scary in places.
Thanks for posting.:thumb:

Great Vid KillerHertz! Loved the nurburgring spotting video too.

Top marks KillerHertz! I enjoyed that a lot. Would love to do that one day. My 40th has passed. So maybe a present for my 50th! Will tell me wife to start saving!

2 Weeks ago, I drove over to Germany to the Nurburgring for the 2nd time. During the trip I had a Co-Pilot/Passenger ride in the 'Beast of the Green Hell' - The AMG GT R.

The trip was originally planned and booked for my birthday back in March (a rather significant birthday) as a present to myself, a couple of nights at Apex hotel (Followers of Misha's YT channel will know where I mean) as well as a Lap in the GT R.

Due to Covid-19, this was cancelled of course until I had a chance to go mid July, then onto Bruges afterwards.

Below is the video of my lap. It was staggering, terrifying and amazing. Im used to going fast but this was another level - as you will be able to see from my reactions etc. Heading from Flugplatz to Schwedenkreuzat 264kph then hard breaking was unforgettable.

Stay tuned until the end where I attempt my very first interview on screen. I think it went well except I forgot to switch on my external Mic. I was so 'high' on adrenaline and overwhelmed that I had no idea what was going on. 5 hour drive + 15mins to spare, straight into a 7:20 Lap and then an interview.

(Nurburgring have given me permission to use this footage on YouTube)

I hope you enjoy it, my Lap in my CLS63 AMG and a short film of the entire trip coming soon.

Brilliant, looks great Karl 👍🏻

Thanks all for the positive comments!

You can't really make it out too much, but he drifted the rear of the car at Steilstrecke (the turn before the Carousel.

I remember the pro in the Exige at Hethel asking me if I wanted him to "move it about a bit". Yes I said. Cue some mahoosive drifts. Enormous fun. But much slower and with huge run-off areas. Not at all like the Ring.

Great video btw. Don't know how you managed to make it with saying 'oh shit' or the F word lol

Impressive skills. Definitely one for the bucket list
