My Merc warranty runs out tomorrow...please help me make decision

The Merc renewal for Tier 2 is £858 which is a mickey take.

Warranty Direct is £337 or £30 a month.

My car is in good nick with 72,000 miles on the clock.

Warranty Direct give a choice of network garage or franchise network - does this mean I can use a mate's garage for repairs if I choose network garage ?

I don't really want to go back to Merc as I most likely will be only keeping the car for another year and will get ripped off on the trade-in whether I continue to take to Merc or not.

Really all I want to do is cover anything major going wrong.

My other option is to risk not having a warrany.

Any suggestions ?....

Take the risk. Thats what I would do.

The warranty direct scheme is not that good.

I've heard more negative comments than positive ones from independant warranty providers, so I'd either risk it or get something from MB.

Did you get a Service Plus quote? If so, how much?

PS I think a network garage in that context would mean one 'their' approved garages. Franchise garage would be a main dealer. I doubt if a mate's garage would fit into either category.
