It would be nice for me to know when my cabriolet rolled off the production line so that I could give it an official birthday date. :thumb:

The delivery date of the vehicle to dealer 537 was 26th April, 1994 and the V5 issue date (date first registered), 21st May 1994.

What do you think could be a reasonable guesstimate between production and delivery dates? Would anyone care to guess? :dk:

The Russian web site shows the delivery date as 26th April, 1994 but does not show the build date.

I thought the delivery date is the build date, it's the delivery from the factory.

I've never seen any exact info about this but my W212 was actually built 01/04/2009. I have an EPC print from late April showing this date. But I picked up the car from the factory at 9th of April and the data card has later on been updated to this date, 09/04/2009.

I doubt there is any other info available today than the delivery date from the factory that also usually is called the build date. The build date is visible at the dealer's computer some time before the actual build date (first of April in my case) but I don't know if there is any means to find this info afterwards. Or would the EPC delivery date match the build date if the car was not picked up from the factory?

I've been aware of the actual build date for my earlier cars but don't remember any more and cannot check if this would match with the EPC delivery date.

I'm actually surprised to see the 09/04/2009 delivery date in the datacard. Not an issue with this car but at a model year change (and even at other times for some parts) the actual part used in the car should follow the build date and not a delivery date like the car pick up from factory. If a W211 had been built 1/5/2006 but picked up 1/6/2006 (I hope the example dates were right), it would not have become a face lift model and the 6/2006 date in the data card would have caused a lot of confusion when ordering parts.
