Well i bought this yesterday, what do you think?..... last owner 8 years, new gearbox 2 years ago and a fabulous drive home.....

It has the hard top aswell but as the weather was nice i left that at home....

Some questions....

1: How much for a new soft top....or at least the plastic windows?
2: There is a button on the passengers side of the center console...what does this do?
3: How much to refurb 18 inch Carlsson deep dish staggered split rims....and is it worth it for the wheels?

Hope you approve...:):):):):)

That's lovely - hope it was a good price!

stats007 may be able to give you a price on wheel refurb - he is very good and has refurbed a number of forum members wheels, mine included.

£250 for the windows - £600 for an aftermarket soft-top - £2k for an original.

What does it look like? The one at the top opens the spectacle compartment.

Split-rim rebuilds are £100 + VAT - personally I'd replace them with some OEM wheels - possibly period AMGs.

Thanks for that info..... The button is just above the seat belt plug on the passengers side just down from the sliding arm rest....I thought it would open the arm rest up and reveal a cubby but it does not seem to lift up.???

The key at the top locks the door pockets (early cars only), armrest etc via vacuum.

Ejector seat;)

That is a lovely example! I like the Carlsson wheels.
Personally I'd update the orange indicators, but as it is, it's a superb car.
I love the colour combo :thumb:

Enjoy it!

Darren

PS
By the way, what's that white stuff in the front off side wheel arch?

Happy days, and congratulations - love the colour. The lid of the console opens 90* upwards (button is on the other side on my 96 model) and slides forward (using the button on the centre of the lid itself). Can't work out if the front section is a cassette holder (mine slides up to reveal another compartment). If so, could it be to release the holder? I've not noticed one on mine, but I've only had it five and a half years.

Yes, looks like the release button for the console lid ... but on the wrong side

Nice! Tidy up the front bumper & replace the missing headlamp washer and you'll be set :)

As already mentioned I would personally lose the wheels. The rears aren't too bad but the fronts look like wheel trims IMO :o

Maybe He's excited at getting his new car..
