My new car

There is no denying the looks - they are stunning.

I know that kind of person - they also say things like "It's a bit old isn't it".

If these are the worse cusses they can think of - you know you've bought the right car. :D

To be honest the amount I saw with 160k+ miles gave me some confidence!

I love it, it’s so practical, feels special and generally gets the right kind of attention. I did get one guy I unfortunately have to see on occasion who always has to make himself feel big. He closed the door and took great pleasure in stating “it sounds like a Volkswagen”.... alright mate :wallbash:
What’s that saying, if you can’t say something nice, then say nothing at all or similar.

I bought my then girlfriend a Ford Ka when it was just released. She loved it and she was really proud of it. When she first had it, a neighbour who lived opposite my parents was really unpleasant about it, and that wasn’t uncommon experience - it was like people (strangers) went out of their way to say they hated it.

Enjoy your car. It’s blooming lovely!

I do like them.... ALOT!! But with having the c class it’s nice to have something from a different brand. Also these powerfull cars NEED 4wd to put the power down, I don’t think the S class has this yet?

Yes, they do 4Matic now.

I think they are like Marmite tbh , Good to see that they are not as expensive to maintain as you'd think.

Love the underside pic, dam it looks a loooooooong Car lol ;)

Got the pads fitted today, easy DIY... didn’t even need a computer to release the electronic parking brake.

Had to buy a new G-clamp and t30 torx - total cost, £44!!!

If it's like the A8 D3 (which theoretically it should be), then you'll need VCDS or similar to reset the system so that the pad thickness is calibrated, otherwise it'll start whinging it you. The story appears to be that if you don't use it to retract you can break the caliper solenoids, but how true that actually is I don't know.

It is indeed identical to the a8! You can disconnect the e-brake motor mounted on the back of the caliper and wind it back manually so that the piston can be pushed back like normal!

Ah yes, I'd forgotten about that option, having a VCDS cable it was never an issue.

I have a clone cable from ages ago but it only works when it wants. I was going to get a proper licensed one but to be honest it would have just sat in a drawer gathering dust, I haven't had the need for it!
