- 2017 Audi RS6 Avant Performance Edition. Range Rover Supercharged - Lovely!
As some of you know, I think a lot of my Audi A6 Avant 3.0 BiTDi.
It’s a fabulous car – 50mpg+ if you really want it and 0-60 in a tad over 5 seconds.
However, around a month ago I developed an itch and, what with one thing and another, I decided to scratch it.
So, last week, I bought this and have to say that I think it’s as pretty as they get.
I had viewed a fair few of these cars, but it was the custom colour Estoril Blue Crystal paintwork that drew me in. Oh, an those wheel arches!
I’m a wheel magpie and believe silver is king, so if I decide to keep the car, the current wheels will have to go. I really don’t care for them at all.
The car is standard stock and although they can be fiddled around with to reach circa 750bhp, with the existing 560bhp and sub-4 seconds to 60mph, I think the car is quick enough.
As far as I can tell, the car has had a nice former life. Full dealership history and very well looked after indeed.
I have to confess that the number plate is still currently on my BiTDi, but I was on private land and thought I’d see how it sat on the RS6.
If I keep the RS6, it will get the TEN 510N reg and the silver rear reg surround will be ditched.
The car is in super condition, free of dings and scratches and even came with a complete Gardex case containing body conditioner, shampoo, bird poop remover, glass treatment a tyre inflator etc.
I’m not sure if the previous owner forgot that the kit was in the car or if he was just a conscientious owner passing on the care kit. A nice bonus either way, but I would like to remove the Gardex paint coating and have a ceramic coating applied, as per my Range Rover. It has lasted very well and makes cleaning a doddle.
Would it be straightforward to remove the Gardex before having a ceramic coating?
The Gardex does seem to do a good job of easing dirt away when washing, I must say.
