Hi Guys,
Talk about stupidity!!!! i was on a dual carraige way doing around 60ish.... and with my wife in the passenger seat.
It was on Sunday afternoon and it was really warm in the midlands that day too so i would have looked like a right idiot if the hood was up.....
was on my way into the city centre on the a 444 and i heard a bang my wife screemed and i looked over and saw the paintball that had exploded on my front windscreen, i carried on driving to the roundabout before returining back home to see the damage,

it looked like there was two paintballs one hit the front the other hit the rear, the car as you can imagine was covered in paint, luckily it was only water based and should not cause any serious damage.....

i notified the police who have been chasing me for the photos of the car and statements, they said they sent someone to the area but my wife drives to work the same way and saw loads of paint splatter in the road.... looks like they didnt look hard enough for the little *******s!!!!!!

not the same as the little biy who died last week but what do the parents of such idiots do!!!!!! and as his mother said i blame the parents.....

how can you let your child out the house with a f***ing paint ball gun.... and to shoot cars.... now what really pisses me off is if that ball didnt hit my windscreen and hit my wife she would have been seriously injured and more than likely blinded.....

what the F**k goes through peoples heads!!!!!!!!

will post pics of damage caused later....

Firstly I would like to say how shocked I am to hear this...but do you know that they were children?

I agree though that society seems to be losing control of the basic respect that people should show to one another and this can only be learned in the home.

I hope your wife has recovered from her shock

At least you are both un injured

Raj, the good news is that you came out of it unscathed other than some possible paint damage.
It drives me crazy when I see kids playing around on roads either throwing stuff at cars or worse using cars as target practice.

Is it just me or does this country appear to be sliding towards anarchy? I remember a recent story where a group of 13 year olds were playing chicken on a dual c-way and whilst jumping from the slow lane to the fast lane didnt see the motorbike who slammed into them. Net result 1 seriously injured biker, 1 written off bike and a kid with a broken leg. Now guess who tried to sue the bikers insurance company for damages??? THE KIDS PARENTS!!!!

Now I know the difference bettween right & wrong (I think) but IMHO when parents have that type of attitude what hope is their for any type of parental responsibility. Again INMHO until this country starts to wake up to the mounting problems that absent fathers, fractured families & gun and knife ownership being seen as cool by certain groups of kids we will continue tosee more of the same thing happening.

Raj - You and your wife are safe and well if not a little shaken so lets be thankfull for that.

Thank goodness you are both okay. Who knows who done this but my money is on youngsters. Will they get caught? I doubt it, but will they be punished? The answer to that is defeaning NO! This government has made it perfectly clear on numerous occassions that it is NOT in the business of punishment, it only believes in REFORM. These misguided, misunderstood people need our understanding.

Unlike everyone else, I don't blame the government, I blame the idiots that voted them into power, and who done that? :)

Oh how "New Labour" fooled so many...The Justice system no longer protects the innocent which is why so many people now look away and dont want to get involved..end result? An 11 yesr old lies dead and the people of Croxteth didnt see a thing!

thanks all of you, we are both ok, and like it has been said i would rather paint every where than any form of injury with a paintball.....

crocker i would presume it was kids as i cant belive that a adult would have the mentallity to sit and wait for cars to paintball on a scorching hot day.

I was certainly glad it wasnt water as any water on the interior we would have been looking at some serious damage especially near the gearbox...

but i do agree the country is going seriously downhill, i recall days when i was a youth and i was scared at the thought of the punishment i would get at home let alone what the police would do to me.

if i done something like this and got caught im pretty sure i would not have been able to sit down for a while.....

the thing that gets me is , i work damn hard to buy and run my car, and it takes a while for me to purchase what was my dream car, WHY oh why would people want to mess up other peoples things its not like it fell out of a tree in my garden and i didnt work for it.
It really makes me sick.... i had a incident once when i had the roof down and somebody splashed water over the seats and on the boot.... now what would they have got out of that??? i may have had a blown gearbox roof windows and any other electrics on the centre console.....
WHY!!!!!!!! WTF goes through these peoples heads....

Jealousy mate, pure bloody minded jealousy.
'someones got something I haven't (and never will) so I'll spoil it for them.

It doesn't even have to be expensive. A friend once had an old merc he pad £600 for - some lowlife still thought it would be clever to key it.

You ask
'WHY!!!!!!!! WTF goes through these peoples heads....'

The fact we have to ask it means we'll never understand it.

I get more and more disillusioned with this country ever single day :(

Thing is there are enough of us saying the same so surely we must be able to bring pressure for the government for action to be taken???

Glad you or both ok. With whats going on at the minute I would be greatful it was only a paintball and not a real gun.

In this country people see you in a nice car and think b*stard...in USA they see you in a nice car and think "one day I'll have that"...not saying US is better - heaven forbid - but perhaps too many get too much with out having to strive for it over here....

As for the people of Croxteth not seeing anything -- well if a kid of 11 isnt safe - can you blame them for being scared sh1tless...dont blame them - blame the lack of support - they asked for police help - police pods etc and were all turned down..no resources --it is all going on damn speed cameras....support them - support them with good resources and the fear goes and people will help...

This sort of thing really annoys me, but as has been said, main thing is you and your wife are OK.

Glad your both Ok. I had the misfortune! to witness a 12 year old throw a full dogpoo bag at a car approaching a mini roundabout it hit the windscreen as the young lady driver braked hard a transit van ran into the back of her. Myself and another passerby, who knew the lad gave statments to the police and the little scrote was charged with reckless endangerment. But as the police officer said he will probably get off with a warning as he has never been in trouble before. What really annoys me is that the girls car was a writeoff she is still off work due to whiplash the transit driver, a friend of mine is a self employed plumber who needs his van daily, lost about two weeks work plus his insurance premium going up. With no recourse to claim as the perpatrator was a minor.
We should be able to sue the parents for damages and loss of earnings for this kind of stupidity

This, apparently, is not true. I had believed this as well but there is the slim possibility of claming damages from the parents, and there have been some reasonble payouts in our area recently- I only found this out because of a recent e-mail from Youth Justice.

It might be worth asking them to speak to the Officer in Case and liaise with Youth Justice to see if this is do-able.

Excellent advice but try your very hardest to be clinical over this issue. Can we get blood out of a stone? If the parents have 'means' or should I say equity? Then it might be worth persuing, but if the parents\parent are on benefits and pleading poverty, then all you are going to do is put yourselve through lots of thankless stress.

Good luck with any decision
Regards

Most household insurance policies have 3rd Party liabilty insurance for upto around a £1m - I think this is designed to cover risks of damage from the house to 3rd parties - but I wouldnt be too surprised if it covered legal liabilities of minors in the house - worth looking into

! This government has made it perfectly clear on numerous occasions that it is NOT in the business of punishment, it only believes in REFORM.
At the risk of being shot down in flames. Reform should be at the end of a rope with someone saying mind the (trap) doors. There is NO deterrent in today's justice system. Too many goody goody do gooders. If there was a deterrent then maybe, just maybe, some of this violent crime would cease

Don's flame proof coat and puts on tin helmet.

Gosh that looks awfull, blast the people that did it, idiots probably got nothing better to do ! Thank goodness you and your wife are fine

Thank god you and your wife are ok! That looks painfully hard to clean especially as you cant use anything hard to clean it due to the paint finish. I've given up on the police all together since earlier this year when someone uninsured hit my mums car and drove off having caused about £600's worth of damage. I told the police, and I then saw the car 3 days later parked near a Mc'Ds near a police station, so I went in and told them that the persons who car it was had hit my mums car earlier.

They didn't want to know, so I thought 'forget it'. I saw the car 3-4 weeks later at about 2am coming back from work, still damaged from hitting my mums car. I neatly pulled the wiper blades off, deflated the driver side tyres, and pulled off his wheel trims. I left the trims and wiper blades next to the drivers door.

It seemed childish, but I guess it was worth causing them inconvenience since the Police weren't bothered about catching him after he caused so much damage to my mums car.

So sorry Raj to see the pictures, I know how you love that car, now that the little bugs have gone, and you only detailed it a couple of months back.

Sorry I did not return the PM, when you get old you forget, best regards.

I note that today prisoners were actually phoning national TV news companies to complain that they were being locked up because the prison officers were on strike?  I thought prison was a place where prisoners were supposed to be locked up? :)
