Sorry if I mislead you guys by my title, the car is still not here yet!

But I could not contained my excitement.

After waited nearly 7 months, it finally went in production this morning!!

Original estimated delivery date was June, then it slipped to August, and then it slipped further to Late August!!

Very frustrating, a few times I nearly cancel my order. :wallbash:

And this morning, it went into production!! YeeHaaaa!! :bannana:

Good choice, VERY good choice indeed.

I was lucky enough to have a ride in one of three in Europe last month at an Audi meet.

What a machine. The acceleration is like nothing else I've experienced - View My Video

Very nice. How long between production and delivery? Are you going yo take it on a 65 plate now?

And to think people moan about the 'ipad' screens on Merc dashes :crazy::crazy:

The Tesla guy was telling us how they actually poached staff from Apple in California to design the screen and interface. That's why it looks so iPad-like

From production to delivery is approx 7-8 weeks, the worst bit is from the time you placed your order to production, in my case nearly 7 months.

If you place your order now, you're supposed to get it in November, but I wouldn't bet on it though.

First UK customer delivery is end of July which is this month, I am most likely going to be last week of August, so I MIGHT wait for 65 reg, if its any earlier I'll just take it regardless.

Rumours has it that Apple is going to start building their own cars in 2020, chances are they'll start poaching Tesla's personal as well...

Funny that before I took the test drive last year, I thought the screen was enormous and over sized, it was almost ridiculous!!

But when you're sitting in the car and see it in the fresh, it all make sense, and the screen somehow looks smaller.

When I sitting in my own car with 7" screen, I now think the screen is inadequate and too small :dk:

They have P85D demonstrators in their centres, go take a test drive, and you'll be gob smacked by its acceleration!!

I am now seriously considering one of these with the performance pack, I've been admiring them over in Denver at one of their outlets. The right kind of results at work over the next couple of months will most likely see me push the button.

I think I know there's another member here who has also pushed the button as well, at least he has the same username anyway.

Personally, in terms of value for money(relatively speaking) the one below the performance model is more than adequate , S85D, its £17k cheaper!! 0-60 4.2sec, there were several owners managed to timed it below 4secs!!

In the real world, there's still nothing that could touch it!

I have finally picked up my car yesterday, absolute bonkers!! 0-60 is awesome but you don't do grand prix start at every light!!
Its the instant immense torque available that really impresses, you could just dive into a gap at a moment's notice, or overtaking somebody in a very short time almost like you were on a powerful motorbike.

Congratulations Kinaero, hope the car lives up to all your expectations and more. Enjoy.

Congratulations. Mega piece of kit.
Would you like to bring it along to the PCS meet / Benz On The Green next May?

Not only did the car lives up to my high expectations, it smashed it by a bucketful load, I'm looking for every possible excuse just to drive it!!

Have been giving lots of demonstrations, keep thinking I might one day get a ticket though the post!!

So far all of the demonstrations have been rolling acceleration, say from 20-30mph onwards, which was incredible, and the passengers were in awe!!

What I didn't know was how much more accelerative from standstill!! Until one day when I pulled up next to a S4 at the light, the 2 lanes merged into a single lane probably less than 100 yards away, the Audi was slowly edging forward readying for a quick start, as soon as the light changes, I could hear the Audi's engine rev'd up and set off, in the meantime, I held my breath and stomp on the pedal

My car just took off like it was being catapulted out of the aircraft carrier, it shocked me!!

I was literally on the go pedal for a couple of secs, and had to back off immediately, as I was heading towards a driving ban territory , the Audi was of course behind me ;)

Considering the number of times I denmo'd the car which uses huge amount of electrons, the car is far more economical than I thought possible.

The car have so far done 398.4 miles, and have used 132.6kwh power

132.6kwh x 12.17p(my electric)= £16.14p
Assuming £5per gallon of fuel, £16.14 will get me 3.23gallons

398.4miles = 123.34mpg!! :thumb:

What car can you think of which will seat 5 adults with supercar acceleration and does 123mpg!!

Congratulations. Mega piece of kit.

Thanks for the invite, what date and where is it? Would love to come, but all depends on workload nearer the time??

Looks awesome....what's the build quality like? does it feel well nailed together with high end interior materials?

An amazing car no doubt - but i have reservations about spending big money and getting about only 265 miles range ?
