I'm waiting to take ownership of a new CLK. It has COMAND but no CD changer so I'm going to have to retrofit.

From reading around there is only one CD Changer I can use (MC3520 / A2038703389) and I need a bracket (comandonline sell for £20), a FO cable (all the same?) and, presumably, a power cable of some kind.

Can anyone expand upon this? All the changers on ebay seem to be the older MC3010/MC3198 models for D2B. There's also one labeled B67822761 which I've no idea what it fits!

Have you considered an ipod interface instead? Its a lot cheaper (about 1/2 the price), has track name/artist/playlist etc display in the cluster (unlike Cd changer) and also offers a much greater choice of music.

I had, but was concerned about sound quality coming out of the tiny iPod wotsits and also I wasn't sure which iPod to get as on your site it says some don't charge.

Would I get better/worse/no different sound Q from an iPod as opposed a CD Changer? Assuming 192/256 kps rips on either device.

Sound quality is in my opinion superb but it is a subjective issue. If you really would prefer a Cd changer then thats what you should go for. You can have both co-exist in the car at the same time if you wanted it!

I have iPod kit and CD Changer in both my cars, never even put a CD into the changers....iPod all the way.
