Ordered a pair of Pilot Primacys from the above on Wed 13th at 1200. Got an email today saying tyres dispatched 14th and expected delivery on 21st  WTF?

Anybody else had tyres from them and is this a typical waiting time?

.

We tried their trade site once, that time scale sounds likely from our experience, one of the reasons we don't use them anymore!

I've ordered from mytyres and it took only 3 days for them to be delivered.
Last time i used Camskill because they where cheaper

I've used a firm called Mil Autos in Taunton, very fast, I ordered at 3.30pm and they were at my place at 10.00 am the next day.

You will find they are probably coming from Germany. Possibly Berlin. If you use the DPD WEBSITE and the tracking number they give you you should be able to track their progress. Makes the wait seem shorter if you see them moving towards you.:thumb:

Didn't realise Mill Auto's did tyres!

I got some tyres from Mytryes and was quoted about five days for delivery but they actually turned up in two. I just assumed they were pessimistic with the delivery time to allow for any delays.

Cheers G. I've been into the DPD site but can't make head nor tail of it. Must be missing something.

Druk,
Were your last set Pilot Primacy's?
Are they noisy?

Paul.

Long story.......

When we bought the car (at auction) all tyres were shot. We bid for and won a set of unused Pilot Primacys on ebay. Got all four for £210:bannana:
However......the seller was in Pontefract and we're near Edinburgh. Good excuse for a wee run. When we got there the seller took pity on us and gave a £10 refund for our fuel. (:bannana: again.)

The tyres have been nothing short of amazing. Rears replaced at 26000 and fronts now needed at 32000. Given the torque the car lays down and the oft imposed resistance (heavy caravan) the rears are forgiven their increased wear rate. Made the mistake of putting lesser brand on the rears and the car feels def more skittish in the wet. Also there is evidence of the wear being vastly increased. False economy big time. I feel it's not worth experimentation with alternate brands: Michelin do it for me regardless of cost. Getting to your noise question. I can't say the cheapo tyres on the rear are any more or less noisy than the Michies. Avantgarde suspension is not as compliant as it might be for comparing tyres.

Having been looking for tyres i checked this Caskill after seeing this thread...are any of these brands any good.) FEDERAL NANKANG OR AVON)... there some of the cheapest for mine but there sooooooooo much cheaper than other places i looked at. what is a good speed rating too?

I like a long story if it contains useful info. ;):thumb:

Many Thanks.

Would not recommend any of those "brands" for an SL (or anything else for that matter).....check the o/s door pillar for recommended speed rating....differs by model and year....but guess min "W" but possibly "Y"
