Needed tyres for my car...Mytyres only place I could find with the size and make I wanted...contacted them last Wednesday and asked if they were in stock and how long delivery....they told me the tyres were in stock and expect 2-3 days delivery......ordered them on Thursday morning expecting delivery perhaps Saturday but poss Monday or even Tuesday....now Monday evening and no contact from Mytyres....eventuall rang them and was told that they would be with me "towards the end of the week"!!!

If I could have got the tyres elsewhere, I would have canceled the order there & then...got tyres from Camskill twice now next day each time.....not sure if I will use mytyres again if they make promised but don't keep them...not very professional....

I have used both mytyres and camskill in the past. Both were excellent and 2-3 days as promised.

When you order from mytyres the tyres come from europe.

Exactly my experience with these two companies. Camskill sent me an email the day after I placed the order apologising that the [winter] tyres were not in stock and there may be a one week delay - and gave me the option to cancel the order. As it was October there was no rush - but in the end they were delivered 3 days later.

Mytyres - a bit different - placed the order and then received a tracking reference - when you entered it it showed a table with some gobbledeegook on it and no information about when the expected delivery would be - it showed a packing date in a town in Germany - v. useful. However they were delivered in about 7 days - but no comms.

Verdict - Camskill is the one to use or give yourself a 7 day leadtime. And no I dont work for them and have no connection with them other than being a [very] satisfied customer.

Camskill sounds v good but who do you get to actually fit tyres purchased in this way? Would have thought that Main Tyre retailers - Kwik Fit etc would not be interested in fitting only or do I have the wrong idea? What happens if tyres are faulty and are fittedeby others than original supplier?

Don't wish to appear negative but seems pretty important as tyres are the only contact with the road as far as I am aware....

Local garage with tyre fitting facilities. Stick to well known brands like Michelin should protect against tyre problems.

Have been told today (Tuesday), 5 days after ordering, that the tyres will be dispatched today and I should expect to receive them Next Wednesday, thats over a week away and almost 2 weeks from the day I ordered.....not the service I thought I was going to get..

From my experience the expected delivery date is a pessimistic one - mine arrived a couple of days before that date.

Even if they do arrive a couple of days earlier, it is still a long way from the "next day" service I get from other suppliers such as Camskill...

Yes, I've also had 'slow' service from Mytyres before - if only they confirmed up front the length of time it wouldn't be so bad!

Most recently, I've used Elite (Alloys Wheels, Tyres, Performance Tuning, Disc Brakes to Suspension from Elite Direct, Essex UK) who seem very competitive and delivered in two days (on a tyre they didn't even have in stock!). Well, actually, competitive isn't the word; they were 30% cheaper than I could get anywhere else...but then the C63 on 19's does have quite rare-sized tyres!

I did ask and I was told that the tyres were in stock and were subject to a delivery period of 2-4 days!! As per my previous posts, its likely to be nearer 13 days before delivery is made after order (to be sure, this works out to be 9 working days if I take out the two weekends, but still a lot longer than was promised)

Thats the annoying thing - they tell you one thing when it's blatantly not the truth.

Have no experience with either company, but we've been working flat out to try and contact all the people that haven't had their orders due to us not being able to get up the drive to our unit and then the couriers truck not being able to make it up the drive once we finally got into work...
Admittedly light items like tyres would have been no problem for us to send out, but heavier items that require our forklifts were simply a no-no in this weather.

Not making excuses for the company and yes they should have contacted you, but when unforeseen circumstances come into play it can be difficult to keep up with everything. Our company for one, just wasn't equipped to deal with the demands of the last couple of weeks!
