I recently noticed that many M271 engines including mine are missing a cover which can be seen at the very front of the engine in the photo. i asked at MB and they say some came with it some didn't! Has everyone else got or not got this cover? Have I just discovered the next mod?

Could they have only been on the Coupe's? (as featured in that photo).

Thats a logical thought KH. Can any M271 owners check their engines are report back please, then we might establish a pattern!

No cover on my 2006 W203 C180K, and no cover on a sample of cars on sale on Used Cars | Cargiant - The world's largest Used Car Dealership.

My 2003 C180K Coupe has it at the front of the engine.

My 2003 211 has the cover . It was on the early 211's , but I think the later 211's didnt have it fitted
