Hello Everyone
I have just joined this site and have already posted a question about comand but have not introduced myself - sorry:(
I have just become the owner of an E270 elegance after being a passenger in an E220 which collected a stationary vehicle on the A1 at 80+. Not a pleasant experience but seeing how we (Driver and me) and the car faired compared with the other vehicle (unrecognisable) I decided safety wise I needed an E Class! I realise the time and effort taken to buy a car (05 from a dealer) and can empathise with Alfie Conn and his short tale of the SL :D. Reading that thread and others made me realise the genuineness (sp?) of most members and their desire to help and advise, rather than deride which unfortunately can occur on many threads.
I look forward to being whatever help I can as well as hopefully drawing on others experience if needed.
Thanks
GG

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on an excellent choice of car !

Welcome from me too!! Nice cars aren't they? Yours has the engine I would have gone for if budget allowed at the time!

Whereabouts 'oop north? Take a look in the Events section for GTG's - next ones are 19th July near Sheffield and 9th July near Wigan

Up north? Diesel E class? You're not in IT are you???

Nice car - very crashworthy (I'd had mine an hour when I got hit from behind) and very solid - hope it serves you well!

Got new rubber on the Ankaas - I'm funny about tyres - Although the car had adequate tread the tyres were mismatched Contis so changed to new Michelin Pilot Primacy.
No Tim - IT isn't that something to do with Tara P-T?

I love the E class and sometimes wish I went for the 270 after I got a ride in one, much more refined than my 220.

The safety aspect was a major reason I went for mine. They are excellent cars to drive, depsite what magazines say, comfortable, well built and just excellent.

Does up north mean scotland, there is a GTG at the Hawes in South Queensferry at 1pm THIS SUNDAY :D

Welcome to the forum. Nice car - like the colour. Something about a silver MB........specially Cubanite.

Classy.

Gollom
Is that Preston Lancs ? Nows that's foreign especially from Yorkshire:D

Our notes are still legal tender :D

You try spending Scottish notes down south!:) ! you might as well be holding the shop up armed with a gun for all the fuss the they make

Hi and nice car, shame about the lack of colour   ;)

If we must have an accident then the E-class would be a great choice of shell to be protected by. :) :)

Yours sincerely
John

Wicked color:rock: just change the grill to a avantgarde one

You're missing your "star" or "gun sight". One of the sole reasons to get a W204 elegance over a W204 sport IMO.

Hi John
Have you got a colour piccy of yours?
:p
Regards
