On a serious note I suppose its important when buying a car to verify the authenticity with the servicing dealer.

Then again a lot of records have moved due to the MB takeover of various dealerships. E.g. a certain dealership cannot provide any details pre February 2003.

There was a stamped up service book on ebay before from a 190.

But it was made clear that whilst it was stamped and mileage logged, there was no vehicle reference.

I grassed them up to ebay, and in best ebay tradition, they completely ignored it.

You can buy service books from the stealership. I wonder if they fill out the details of the car before giving it to you? Either way, If its written in Biro, there is a way to remove biro ;)

I wonder if you can still get that ink that disappears after 24 hours... :D

Brake fluid, being hydroscopic - absorbs most ink including biro without taking off the print on the paper. Might need a long soak though.

Nothing illeagal in selling service books/
