Ouch - get well and enjoy looking for a replacement car.

OUCH!...... The state of the car.

Very pleased that you got away with just minor injuries.

Tony

good lord very big impact there! hope you're alright and make a swift recovery!

Car has done its job, glad we are reading about it here, not in the papers. Get well soon and good luck getting back on your feet

Holly molly! Get well soon.

The car's done its job well. Am I right in thinking you don't have a spare wheel but a can of foam incase of a puncture?

Get well soon.

basically, i dont have anything....tried to nick the compressor, but couldnt get it out

You must get behind the wheel of a car and drive as soon as you can,as a shunt like that has likely to have scared the living daylights out of you.Wish you well.

Glad you're okay and not worse.

Jeepers, thank goodness for modern safety rules.

Glad you're relatively ok and get back behind the wheel of another lovely MB soon.

still got my silver arrow to play with

First things first - glad to hear you're ok.

As for the crash, it makes very interesting viewing for me (I'm a body structures engineer). The rear crash structure worked exactly as designed, however I'm assuming it pushed you into a larger (i.e. SUV type) vehicle that rode up the front end? Looking at the load path, I assume the drivers' side airbag will have fired, however did the passenger side deploy?

And again, glad to hear you're ok. The car did what it was designed to do - protect its occupant(s).

After a major rear impact like that make sure your neck is uninjured by whiplash. If you are experiencing any discomfort in that area I suggest you take professional specialist medical advice asap. It could be that you might benefit from precautionary immobilisation by soft collar for a few days. The important thing is to get it seen to /examined quickly- This will help minimise any damage from becoming chronic. There are of course lots of false insurance claims in this area but there are equally many genuine cases which can take months to surface after apparently only minor discomfort at first.
