Need a Headlight W202 1997 sport

Hi there, my MOT ran out today on the C250 sport and if failed

Needs a little bit of welding and a brake pipe, buy what was strange was the headlight was cracked.

So does anyone have a cheep replacement???? Drivers side??

Can you not change the lens?

There are at least two different patterns on the W202 headlight glass. A piccy would help you get the right one.

If its a 97 it will be the later one without the plastic frame.

Yep lense is seperatable, remove indicator which will reveal a screw holding the plastic trim below the headlight. This will reveal the remaining clips, be carefull these clips can be fiddly to remove. May also be worth inspecting the rubber seal.

A 1997 vehicle could have either early or later style headlight fitted as this is right on the changeover, one way to find out would be to look at the back of the headlight at the covers over the bulbs if your car has two covers then it is the later type (Bosch), if it has one cover then it is the early type (Valeo).
I bought a new lens from Euro Car parts IIRC correctly circa £30-£35, i gave them my reg. no. number and they identified the correct lens for my car.
