Hi guys, `im knew to all this and need of some good ol mercland assisitance. I cant get to the bottom of my rough warm up engine idle problem so in need of a recommended specialist W123 mechanic in east or north east london or essex/london borders. Any ideas?

Welcome Guy. I'm a little far north to recommend anyone but them who know will be along soon.

Good Luck with your 123.

Ran through them, still cant find a garage this this way. Should I try gatecrashing a busy forum or will those in the know come to me? I just want a good honest willing independant expert.

They will come to this thread. Right now they are perhaps enjoying a little light refreshments away from computers and hand held crystal balls.

If its got the Bosch JETRONIC K system its probably either the warm up regulator [ there's a couple of diaphragms that can develop leaks ] or the auxilliary air valve that's faulty. Have a look at the links in this thread for an explanation.
Very good Bosch technical links

Always starts first time all conditions
Always pulls smoothly all conditions
After warm up valve switches off idle is rough to point of stalling but gets better as it get s warmer but still not a good feeling
Warm engine idle ok but a bit of a wobble.
These symptoms are gradually getting worse.
Ignition fine
Co and idle correctly set
Auxilary air valve checks done and seems ok.
Cold start valve swapped to a second hand one with no difference.
I`m guessing warm up reg but I would lik fuel pressures etc plus expert opinion, better still a second WUR.

hi grober, I `ve always suspected the WUR but didnt realize it could gradually start to go/leak but rather it worked or didnt work and so I was turned off the idea that this was the issue. I`ve donre the checks on the aux air valve and dont think its that. My problem is gradual and now to the point that cannot be ignored. Maybe it is the WUR after all. I`ve posted my car symptoms.

MAMo MIR off holloway road in wedmore mews n19, he is very good with w123 and w124

I wouldn't discount any decent BOSCH Jetronic workshop [ not purely MB specialist? ] since these systems were pretty much the same whatever vehicle they were mounted on. Might give you wider choice in your particular location ?

good ideae james, yet I cant find a recommended specialist my way that I can trust. any body else know a good k jet specialist east london essex way

I wouldn't have thought you'd be able to trust anyone until you have actually used them. It's all referal or recommendation until that happens.

You've been given two specific recommendations for N.E. London & Essex & a general one for Bosch. Do you want more?
