Merc B Class W245
Hi all

Desperately need to replace my upgraded 18" alloys as they get kerbed too much being that they have zero tyre protection!

I think my stock alloys that are now sold were 17x7" et49 PCD 5x112 with 215/45/17 or 205/45/17 tyres

I'm looking at going back to 17" just need a cheap second hand set with tyres if possible but what other MB cars alloys can fit my W245? Just to give me a wider search pattern.
Any from a C Class ( circa 2005 models? Are these staggered?)
A Class alloys?

Help appreciated

5x112 seems to be "THE" Mercedes pcd choice! E class are the same too. Only thing to watch out for (from what I've read) is the centre bore size. As if it's bigger you'll need adaptors, and smaller you'll need the wheels "adjusted" (correct me if I'm wrong).

Thanks Coney!
Do the E Class alloys come staggered? ( rears are wider than front)
Yeah I checked this W245 has a centre bore of 66.6 so I need to keep that the same if possible.
I want 7x17 et49 CB 66.6 with 215/45/17 tyres... Sheesh seems too specific lol.

I need to find out what size tyres I would need for dropping down to 16" wheels if that'll be easier to find... Just gotta get of these 18" alloys

Once you get your head around the numbers it's not too hard... Just a pain checking different manufacturers etc.... Example lots of Audi A3 and wheels are 5x112 but checking closer they have a CB ( centre bore) of 57.1 so would need adapter a which I don't know about

Just found a great site for comparing wheel and tyre combos
Online Wheel and Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit

I have some genuine b class sport 18" alloys with tyres. 2009so they will for yours and they have a good tyre wall to prevent too much curbing.

Will A Class wheels fit this B Class?

Will A Class wheels fit this B Class?

Looking at my 18" AMG III wheels, they might not - mine is ET54, W245 is ET49

Here's some info I have:

As to extra rim protection, have you thought about wider tyres?

I've had 225/40 Goodyears fitted last months, to replace stock 215/40 Contis, and it is so much better - nicer softer ride, more planted, handles occasional spirited driving and cornering much better, and that extra 5mm over the alloy's edge helps too. They also much quieter, with better grip and mpgs :thumb:

Cheers guys, I'm currently looking at W204 alloys, this is a C CLass MB but it seems they all have the same 5x112 and CB of 66.6.
Once I get those two crucial parts right I can then look at the wheel seize, offset and tyre size.

From my calc... my current
18 x 8 et 42 with 215/40/18

Plan on going to
6 x 15 et 43 with 205/55/16

From the planned changes it will keep the overall Rolling Road pretty close and give a wider sidewall with some bump protection over the rims!
I'm only after an old beat up set if need be, such a hard work finding some though ;p

I did consider using my 18'' Alloys and upping from 215 to 225 but they stick out enough already without putting more width to them.

Going to look at W169 alloys now too cheers.

Guys quick question please.
I've found a set of wheels for sale off a 2007 W204 C220
Told they are stock wheels with 205/55/16 tyres
Would this make them 7x16j?

Would they fit my W245?

Well I bought them second hand, arranging to pick them up soon.
The W204 has CB 66.6 and bolt size M14x1.5 same as my W245... what could go wrong?!

I was thinking to just change them all over myself but then thought it might go all pearshaped if they aren't balanced properly!
Last time I upgraded from 17'' to 18'' the shop made me get 4 wheel alignment done for £80, would I need that again if I am just changing wheels over?

Checked that, offset is 42 but on a 7'' wheel.
So going down from my 8'' wheel this should be ok. Actually moves the wheel back inside a bit and still moves away from the suspension strut so totally no fouling anywhere. Plus has same RR :)
Cheers for pointing it out though in case it hadn't been calculated.

Picked up some W204 (C Class from 2007 onwards) alloys and just rested them against my car to see how they'd look and quite pleased.
These have the 14mm hole for the nuts to go through, same as my W245 and as I found out, most Merc wheels use ball seat bolts so the stock wheel bolts will fit (14x1.5)

Now just need two new tyres, get them all balanced and hopefully swap them over easy as pie.

Wheels are 7x16" et42 with 205/55/16 tyres

That goes perfectly with your car :thumb:

Ha thanks GLK, I call these the big n bouncy wheels for kerb parking practice... Am thinking to change my black and chrome 18" alloys anyway as they aren't too practical.. Even I've managed to kerb two of them myself :(

Say them what you need and your things will be there at your home.
Hope this post helps you and hope for your appreciation ;)

Fitted the 16" ers today, wow what a lovely soft ride it is now!
Relieved it all worked out, two new 205/55/16 tyres and some Armourall tyre spray for the two other tyres and it looks decent enough.
