What would I be looking at paying to get my brakes replaced on my car? I'm trying to find a local Indy to do it for me but they are harder to find than a needle in a haystack it seems around these parts! haha

Sooooo, if I have to take it to the stealership what am i looking at cost wise?

I'm based in Kent (rochester/sittingborne/rainham/gillingham/maidstone/chatham are all within easy reach of me if anyone does have the name of an indy...)

I have a C270 CDI on a 95 plate

No need for an MB Specialist to do it - any dealer will be able to replace the disks and pads. Even I managed it, so a mechanic will do it whilst reading the Daily Sport and eating a bacon sandwich!!

Brown or red sauce? :D

Buy the parts from your local dealer and be sure and ask for a discount - shy bairns get nowt. Phone your local tyre fitting depot and ask how much to fit, should be around £50.

This is what I do and it always works out much cheaper than dealer and marginally better than indi. As others have said you do not need any specialist skill to undertake this task.

get Steve (the MB mechanic many on here (including me) uses).

Jadefox, I think you once said you were hard onthe brakes and made the wheels dirty. If that is that case get EBC Greenstuff pads and have a local garage fit them or supply and fit.

There is nothing unusual with W203 brakes.

Just to update; I got a quote to do the work on my brakes from another stealership....they quoted (if both the pads + discs needed replacing) Rears £350 and Fronts £455.
I phoned a guy off of here who comes HIGHLY recommended and he quoted £190 Rears and £160 Fronts...so let's say worst way both sets needed pads and discs (which let's face it is highly unlikely) but lets just say for sake of argument they did - then which would I rather pay....over £800 or £350 for the same job.

I'm so pleased I found you guys!! :D :D :D

Had massive quotes from my dealer -- Olly did it for much much less....

Used to be an indi on the medway estate but that was a couple of years ago now so maybe gone?

2nd right after the roundabout sharp left then right before the steel gate.

Steve was recommended to me here. He has done the bigger jobs on my car - servicing is done by TMS Motors which is more local to me. Very happy with Steve's competence and pricing.
