Hi guys

Im looking for someone with W210 with pre-installed phone kit from Merc. Ideal if I could get someone with models before 2000 and someone after 2000 - please. Reason for that as I need to cross refrence parts for those kits but need examples of VIN numbers. I would really appricate help on this. It does apply even you use it with ViseeO MB unit.
Whoever decide to help me, can I ask for model of phone used and possible VIN number.

Big thanks in advance.

You wont find one before 2000 with it. IIRC the 6210 was released in 2000 and the 6310i in 2002.

Thats OK then. I can go with after 2000 then. I really need VIN to cross reference it.

Ok... looks like there no intrest in passing that info. Lets try diffrent thing.

Can some tell me if cradle for 6x10i from merc is with some internals or is it just housing and wires?

I suspect that , back when those phones were current , most people were using the well established Nokia Carkits - which also suited a range of Nokia handsets before the 6210/6310 series .

I still have a couple of these carkits lying around plus a few of the handsets , although we've moved onto iPhones now .

MB did not allow "future phone models" with their control units. You have to update the control unit SW or swap to a new part if the control unit is too old for the phone.

The interface as such did not change between 6120 and 6310i which is why an old Nokia kit would work with phone models that were released after the kit was designed.

Considering the MB phone cradle, it does not have any complex electronics. Actually I once built a harness that connects the Nokia after market HF kit cradle to the MB control unit. The disadvantage of course with this is that you don't have the option to lift the handset for private conversation but it works fine for HF.

Richard (at mercupgrades) should have a list of phone control units mapped to supported phone models. The cradle part number does not matter (except for the helix type antenna versus the internal antenna), it would work with all control unit versions.

I didnt want to ask the question because I didnt know how. But looks like you just answer it anyway.

I decided to get upgraded control unit for Nokia 6310i (found it for ~£20) part number A203 820 99 26 so all I have missing is cradle and ViseeO unit and I should be OK. According to what you say its just a proper connection to Nokia 6310i as there is nothing special inside the cradle it self. In this case I thinking of trying with cradle MCC-1 from Nokia. After all those are the same standards on connection and cables. I dont care about look of cradle as I want to fit it inside arm rest anyway and I dont want to spend £180 for cradle from MERC and its almost impossible to find decent one for reasable money. After all it would be £20-30 not £180.

Now I have a question... Am I far from saying - this will work?

I'm a bit confused, is this a car that does not come with any OEM hands free kit? I believe ViseeO would work with the 6210 controller too, or would it? Anyway this is not an issue as you got the 6310i controller.

Is your car wired? If you have the wiring from the phone control unit to the centre armrest, you would likely have the microphone installed too (and the phone antenna which is not needed with ViseeO). If the wiring and the mic are in place, all you need is to attach the control unit (preferrably code the fibre ring, the steering wheel buttons would have to be activated too), install the cradle and you are ready to go.

I would have the Nokia car kit based cradle, wired for the MB connector but it does not make sense to send it to you, I would have the original cradle too but I don't want to sell that.

By the way, what else do you have in the fibre ring in your car? My 210 did not have anything else than the phone and I installed everything to the front of the car. Even easier now that BT is available, the cradle does not have to be reachable.

Well... Im still on topic of changing my Nokia 5110 to system with BT where I can use my sterring controls. Trouble is I dont want to spend huge money so I look for solutions below £100ish. I dont want to buy parrot as its s..t (I tired and I dont like it).
I tired to find some more info before: http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/electronics/96519-need-upgrade-nokia-3110-bluetooth.html

Well I finally found cheap 6310i Merc unit for £20 so its just a case of getting a cradle which is impossible to get.

What I have on my fibre is: Nokia 5110, CD Changer, Command. I`m looking to swap control unit and want to make sure my setup will work with 6310 because if it will then I can get Viseeo-MB1000. Simpless :D

With the 6210 / 6310i cradle the pins were easily bent and damaged so you dont get many working cradles come up for sale.

Thats explain there is none on market.

I found somethin intresting on one page. Bluetooth Adaptor Upgrade for Nokia Cark-91 6310 car kit [Cark-11w] - £69.00 : Car Communications, The hands free kit installation specialists , Car Communications the hands free kit installation specialists. Can someone confirm that?

----- Note 2: May not operate in your vehicle if you have a CARK-91 which has been modified in any way by the manufacturer of your vehicle. (eg: some Mercedes cars use the MCC-1 cradle with their own car kits meaning that this converter will not work. This is the case with many other car manufacturers, therefore we advise to ask dealership if you have a dealer installed kit before buying this product) -----

I have a spare cradle - will look it out and see what numbers are on it.

Depend on what is it, do you want to get rid of it?
