Hello all!

I've not been on for about 3 months (16th Feb to be exact!).

I've been in East Africa and left the Merc parked up on the drive.

Mrs B has been driving it every so often (by swapping the cars on the insurance policy for a few days at a time) so I've made sure it's been used.

I'm coming back over for about a month in the next few weeks and will need to drive the car for that time.

I don't want to take out a full years insurance policy so I was wondering if anyone knew of a half decent insurance company that can insure me for about 30 to 45 days?

I see there are a few gtg's whilst I'm over so i'll try and pop in!

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

KJ

So the car has no insurance on it apart from the few days when your wife swaps the cars on the policy for her to use it? See if you can add the car to your wifes policy as most insurers do multicar policies and add yourself as a named driver for a month.

A bit devious but did you know that you can take out a policy with firms like More Than and then cancel it after you receive the paperwork. I think you can "change your mind" up to 30 days and end up paying nothing!

If the car has no insurance for most of the year....What's going to happen if it gets stolen. Surely better to have theft insurance at least rather than none!!

I was with admiral for a year on their multicar policy.

At renewal time they hiked up the price so I went back to my old company.

Good point.

I know there's a chance of it getting stolen but during the day there are so many neighbours about that the chance of that is low.

Also, in the surrounding locale the chavs prefer corsas!

Thanks,

KJ
