E55k tanzanite blue
:( need to sell my car due to financial reasons, just wanted your advice on how much its worth. Seen some ones going scary cheap on ebay.

Its 2003 tanzanite blue E55.

83k genuine miles, HPI clear.
Recently had full service from Acid (msl) including gearbox service, K&N filters, lowered with star. Also some control arms changed.

Its got C63 back boxes which sound gorgeous.

Command, heated and cooled seats. Rear heated seats, visseo bluetooth. ETC

The only thing its missing is dynamic seats, keyless & pan roof.

Just depends on what you consider to be scary cheap.
Few on autotrader asking £9 - 10k, some on pistonheads asking circa £12k for 2003 E55
these are dealer asking prices
also 80% of cars are purchased on some sort of finance
normally no one will give you more than it's worth unless you are lucky
At the end of the day a deal is done at a price which a seller and a buyer mutually agree.
I have found that there are a lot of people offering cars at unrealistic prices on the classifieds, but hey ho that's life.

Does it have full service history and how much tax and test?

And does it have Distronic?

It is worth what somebody is willing to pay.

The trouble is that there is a limited population that will appreciate the vehicle for what it is and are able and willing to pay a fair sum for what is a 10 year old (lightly modified) performance vehicle with quite high running costs.

Sadly there is a much a larger population of dreamers and half wits.

Is it the one spewing smoke in your avatar?

Depends how quick you need to sell (as in tomorrow or you can wait a short while).

Selling cars in a hurry means you will probably get less than you'd like.

As Joecash suggests, there is a range of prices already - you should be able to slot yours in there somewhere based on what you have / condition and mileage.

Then adjust as to how quick you want to sell it.

I still think the colour suits it well.

It's a shame to have to sell such a nice car, but needs must I guess.

I recently bought a fully loaded 2004 E55 privately for a figure between £8k and £9k with slightly more miles than yours. I think you would be looking at a similar figure, but as others have mentioned, it's only worth what someone looking for it thinks it's worth. Like it or not, fuel guzzling V8's are not high on most peoples radar and are not pulling in the money they were a couple of years ago. Hopefully you'll get what you are expecting.

I thought Dynamic seats were standard on the E55?

If not, then this gives me more information as I'm actually in the hunt for a black E55 with many options hehe.

I have been watching the E55 market daily and most sell at £7.5-£9k. Anyone asking £9+ usually stay on for weeks, eventually they drop the price below £8k and they go very quickly.

I watched a black E55 (54 plate) asking for £9-£10k, lots of options... eventually the dealer dropped it to just under £8k and the car went in about 2 days. I would have bought it but I didn't have enough money back then :(

I'm sure there are a few rare ones that go for £10k+

It has full service, recent was done by msl. It has 12months mot, 5months tax. Recent ic pump for the updated bosch one. No distronic.

Honestly i paid 9.5k 12months ago, i appreciate i will loose money. But im not gona give it away.

Might put it up 4 8.5k.

BQF put his one on eBay recently and it sold for £7.8k... Silver, 87k, well maintained, high spec with distronic... if only it was black >.<

If you have time, try £10k and see what offers you get.

If you need to sell sharpish, put it on at £7250 and it should sell quickly.

Put it on at anywhere near £9k and you'll struggle to attract a buyer because you're into 04/54/05 plate territory there and as nice as yours is, it will struggle against those.

Put it up for £8,500, then it'll take an age to sell, so you'll have to keep dropping the price, then you'll get people that watch the value of W211 E55's thinking "Why can't he sell, it's been up for ages?" and then four weeks later you'll still be sat with the car wishing you'd put it up for £7250 and sold it in less than a week...

I think my C32 is worth over £5k but I've priced it 'to sell' and it should do once I get some nice pictures and get it up on PH, eBay etc

^ That will sell all day at £7250 IMHO and undervalues the car. That is rock bottom pricing for a W211 E55 especially with that spec and mileage. There are high miles dogs out there asking more (OK, they won't sell) and I still believe the OP is about right thinking of £8.5k negociable.
I agree with you in that if the OP is desperate to sell, it has to be under £8k.

With all due respect to the OP; BQF's E55 is newer and with higher specification and that only reached £7800.

And you've also said that you paid just over £8k for your E55 and yours is newer, so how is the OP going to get a quick sale by pricing it above other, newer cars?

Here's one of similar age and mileage but with Panoramic roof up at a dealer for £7975; http://bit.ly/1dfO1qc

Bad example... I have asked about it and did an online check on it... You can see in the pictures that there is no Pano roof, the condition is rubbish, online check came up as stolen & recovered! Even the passenger seat has wear!

was about to say, that isnt pano roof. If anyone wants, ask acid, he checked over the car.

Maybe it's a bad example, but I just grabbed a quick one off eBay to show the OP of what others are for sale for and it's not on it's own.

The OP's asked for advice on the value of his car because he's looking for a quick sale from what i gather and then everyone is advising him to put it up at a price that will mean it'll hang around for a while because it's not actually them that needs rid! I give up!

I would have been interested in buying the car but it's not worth £8,500 as a quick sale, I'd be looking at and buying that silver 54 plate (which definitely does have pano roof) on the Auto Trader for £9k all day long. No brainer really...

Good luck with the sale though.

Might put it up 4 8.5k.

So after paying the dealers margin you expect to lose only £1k in 12 months.

You would have lost that the day after, not a year after.
