yep, 6.3 litre M119 !

Attached is a picture of the engine and yours truly beside it.

I was in Las Vegas and Los Angeles in March on business and pleasure and for the first time, saw the engine and it's workings for myself. What a piece ! Beautifully prepared....Brabus 6.0+ crank, 6.3 displacement, custom heads, flow tested to punch out 525bhp+, so long as the exhaust is not too restrictive.

The engine will now go in a crate and be shipped to me, along with the Renntech airbox and Renntech roll bar and rising rate fuel pressure regulator. I already have the Renntech back box on the recipient car, the black 500E.

Once engine is in along with RRPFR and Wideband O2 sensor, i can then get some dyno runs. The crate will take a month to arrive though.

cheers

Talbir, that is amazing.

If you would ever let me have a look at your collection sometime and do some photography for you i'd be very grateful!

Kind Regards
Mr. 500E

I now know why you was giving the black 500E the full beans against that CLS AMG.... old engine is obviously coming out for this beast!

Ha ! Briliant....tell you what though, the engine currently in the black 500e is immense....smooth as silk, effortless and abolute perfection. I had no fears at all giving it full whack on that drag race....the engine/gearbox are bombproof !

We'll see how the gearbox fairs when it's asked to transmit 525+ bhp ! The manual gearbox will take a while to complete so i wil lbe running the auto with this engine...should be fun !

Wow - that will be a truly special W124 when it's finished.

I'd love to see your collection of cars at some point :)

Glad you can laugh about the above!.
Once you get that engine in it will be a real stealth car!

I believe it's a renntech block at 102mm equating to 6.3 litres + renntech pistons.

Cylinders lined - What I don't understand is from what I've just been reading if this started out as a 6.2 block and now has been lined, how has displacement been increase to 6.3? Surely lining cylinders would reduce diameter and therefore displacement? Would this have something to do with a modification to distance travelled by the pistons inside the cylinder over the standard renntech set-up, thereby increasing displacement? Would this be achieved by using a longer connecting rod?

Brabus crank - not sure which type - probably the same as those used in the M119 6.5.

Lighter/stronger connecting rods

Standard camshaft

Fully bespoke cylinder heads - not sure if this means new heads from scratch or porting of original heads.

I think that's it.

Fascinating. I have too many questions about this work !

By the way, has anyone got a picture of an M119 expanded. I've seen it once before but I can't find it...

Peak power figures are misleading though I don't doubt the quality of the Renntech unit. Imagine if you fitted a supercharger...

do the yanks have a thing against beards!

are me and my big fat goatee safe?

i love you by the way, feel free to adopt me, i eat alot so be warned
