Hi All,
Just a quick update,
Ive given the A-Class back and they are just processing etc... I now am a owner of a 2012 C-Class Coupereally happy with it and I'm loving the good service from Mercedes-Benz Redhill !

We had a bit of a saga pre delivery of our A Class but the car itself is fine and is the 2 litre diesel manual AMG Sport model. It does sound as if you were unlucky as many other A Class owners say they are happy. The trouble with forums is that we tend to post about things that go wrong and not about successes because that's what we expect. That had the effect of tilting the balance of posts and leave a negative impression. Totally understandable but I don't think all A Class are problematical.

Hi Guys,
To be honest the new A-Class is great, the problem with rattles etc will be limited to a select few cars - Namely AMG Sport - Auto - Night Package. This is the hardest possible ride (run Flats) with storage in the center console.
If I didn't have to have an Auto I would buy a manual again in a heart beat!
Also had this been another dealer this may have been fixed a lot quicker and we wouldn't be here.

Matt am I right in thinking that my wife's A Class AMG Sport 2 litre diesel manual with no Night Pack does not have run flats ?
I thought they were part of the Night Pack. She insists she has them and as I am plumbed into my hospital bed at present I can't go and check to win the argument ! I wouldn't have said the ride is overly harsh.

Yes the night pack adds the Eagle F1 Run Flats.
Just out of interest, is it a red one?

Quick Update
In the end it went back for another few rounds of letters and meetings to settle on a C350cdi (face lift) with nearly 6k of contribution from Mercedes side! So I am now a happy owner of a Mercedes
Now for the modifications to begin 800nm+ here we come !

I have a 2011 Renaultsport RS250 cup.
It has rock hard suspension, on 40 profiles, is French, and never ever rattles. Ever.
But a rattling new Merc?

What's the tune going to be - box or software?
You're lucky then with your megane, (and the megane is not at all rock hard suspension, it's actually quite comfortable, very well dampened), I also had a 250, and an R26 before that, and a Clio 182, and all 3 rattled. If you have recaros in the megane, they will also rattle, the passenger one anyway.
My SLK 55amg, also has a couple of rattles, one from the centre console surround (well more of a sweak), one from the seatbelt area behind my head, and I use to have one in the roof, but that been sorted now.
Most c classes rattle, the comand area again is a problem.

Surprisingly the A class AMG Sport with night pack is ROCK hard ie minimal dampening ! Honestly you have to drive it to experience it.
I agree its not what you expect from a Merc, hopefully a one off !
Tuning will be a full remap, DPF and EGR delete however we have tuning "box" options as well for the peace of mind when it comes to warranty.

I thought I was alone with mine, 5 trips to the garage later it still rattles and squeaks. I noticed last night the spoiler is failing and squeaks. Now its going a bit cold the thing wont even start.
Worst car ever produced and this is comparing it to my worst car (for repairs) ever owned a 100k miles vectra!
