I've recently bought a 2001 C32 AMG estate (W203). One of the few criticisms I have is that the standard AMG 17" wheels look too small!

Steve Sutcliffe from Autocar ran a C32 saloon and I believe he shared my view and changed them for a set of 18" wheels.

Any suggestions for what to put on (without any major modifications) at a "reasonable" budget?

And what price do you reckon I'd get on eBay if I sold my existing wheels (all in excellent condition with nearly full tread)? See the following link for a stock picture of a C32 standard 17" alloy: C32 AMG alloy

Get the same look alloy, but with 18". MB's entire range of alloys is shown on alloy brochure .. get it from your dealer. I got one last week.

The alloys themselves are about £250 each brand new from any wheel shop, tyres are about £100 each aren't they? So bear in mind that someone can walk into a shop and buy brand new, unmounted AMG rims for £1400 and count backwards from there to how much you'd be willing to let them go for :)

Have you seen Guy's Brabus alloys on his C32? They look very smart without looking after market.

guys wheels cost £5500

Nice motor!

Wow! Guy's car looks fabulous. It's better specced than my C32 estate with the Comand system, etc, plus his own personal add-ons! To afford those toys and £5500 alloys he must be either a bank robber or a bank manager (not sure what the difference is)...! :D

I love the black seats with blue inserts as well. Mine are black with, ahem, black inserts to match the, erm, black exterior...

I'm not sure about the AMG badges on the side although I've seen a few articles criticising the normal 'V6 Kompressor' side badges.

What I do like about mine though is that it's a practical estate with a decent size boot as well as being a flying machine. I've got three kids aged 9 to 12 and two big German Shepherd dogs and I'd like to see someone get those in an M3!!

I see Guy lives in sunny Manchester where I am too. If he reads this I'd love to see his C32 'in the flesh' and ask him about the Comand system and other add-ons. Please, Guy?!! :o

Brabus in Kent have some offer on Brabus wheels at the moment.... Kinda depends on how much you wanna spend.

Other option would be the 18" wheels fitted to the new C55

hi
if you are after selling your 17" c32 amg alloys, i will be interested. please email [email protected].

thanks

Thanks, saied, I'll get in touch when I've bought the new ones but it won't be in the next few weeks as I've just had the wife's Range Rover 4.6HSE converted to LPG today which has cost me £1100... :(

Hi Tan

I've seen the Brabus offer on another thread and my reply was, basically, who the hell would pay over 5Gs for a set of unshod alloys however nice they looked?!! :D ;)

Selling some Brabus wheels on behalf of my Dad, check the classifieds section if intrested. Its a LOT cheaper than from a dealer :bannana:

Thanks aka$h, I saw your post in the classified section but my main concern with the current AMG wheels is that the 17" diameter looks too small and I notice your Dad's Brabus wheels are same size.

My last car was a BMW 330Ci convertible which I put 19" M3 wheels on and it looked superb (although it didn't drive quite as well as with the standard 17 inchers). I'm looking for 18" or 19" alloys for the AMG but thanks for the reply mate! :)

OK no problem, having just checked im not sure they would have fit, as the brakes on your c32 may have been too big.
