new audio headunit

i am looking to fit a new headunit to my car but have been told my x reg clk320 cant use any other unit but the one fitted in the car as it is fully optical as anyone fitted new stereo to there cars

Many have. But your standard set up is, as you said, optical. So, get an android unit for the features and then wire in the speakers etc. You won't need a cd player because you can load your cds on to an SD card.

I have just fitted an Android WiFi head unit into my w208 it previously had audio 10, I've also added a twin sub box and a JL audio amp.

hi had my car to a audio fitters who after much tutting and head scratching showed me numerous wires that had been joined with everything from cellotape to insulation tape he told me that the audio system had been so messed up would need a complete rewire to make anything work properly which accounts for the unit always saying that the cd multi changer was not there when it is so will leave that for now thanks for all your help though cost me the earth just to have all the wiring made safe
