Usually go to S&R Motors in Formby but after leaving 2 messages for Ray to call - still waiting - a friend recommended Gemini Service Centre just outside Liverpool city centre.

Spoke to Billy, seemed knowledgeable, & booked 'R' reg E300TD & 'Y' reg E220CDi in for glow plugs.

Done the E300TD in the morning & charged £127.50 plus vat.

Done the E220CDi in the afternoon & charged £95.00 plus vat.

Very happy bunny!! - @ those prices you wouldn't even think about doing it yourself!

The friend who gave me their name has used them for years for his Merc - always friendly & seem to be reasonable price wise.

Talking of liverpool, does anyone know anything good/bad about Prestige Solutions in bootle? They always seem to have a lot of mercs around....

I think thats the place behind the Strand sort of isn't it ?
I went there when my BAS/ASR light come on, he quoted me £120 to change a brake sensor/switch - Road Range Liverpool done it for £56.
I've also heard all them Mercedes outside are unfinished jobs etc so the impression i have isn't good

I've also heard that on the same little estate there's a place that sells Genuine Mercedes parts but at a discount - Not sure what thats called or where it is exactly though
