Hi

I am about to change my car and wondered if anyone had an opinion on whether this car will work for me and my children. I currently have an Audi TTS which is now too small for us.

I have gone around in circles for the past few months and can't make my mind up what to buy but I love look of the new C63 Coupe and want to put an order in. I want a sporty car and feel that saloon versions never look as good.

My two boys are aged 7&8 but quite tall for their age. Does anyone have first hand experience or this car for young kids?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers

Go to a dealership, lock 'em in the back of one of the ones on display, go to the pub for lunch, come back later and see if how they're feeling?

I was at my local dealership a few weeks back and sat in the back of a "C" Coupe and I didn't find it a very comfortable place to be. I'm about 5'6" and headroom was a bit tight , I assume they'll have bolster seats which will further decrease headroom. What I didn't like was the angle of the seat base and back , I felt as if I was sitting on a bench. I had a VW Corrado when my son was about 10 and the rear seats , similar to the MKII TT , were set at a reclining angle so that they held you in place and gave you that extra bit of headroom. As Tiim 553 said, take them into the showroom and put them in the back.

I have an E-class coupe and the problem I find with automatics (or maybe just Mercedes cars) is that I prefer to have my seat further back. This squashes the little one's feet in the back as they're in booster seats which raises their seating position so that their feet don't slot under the front seats in the footwells. I'd imagine a similar thing with any of the small coupes.

Thanks for the responses. My two are tall enough to not have to use bolster seats. Think I borrowed one this week and they seemed fine. Think I'll just have to bite the bullet and do it now. The next problem is in 2-3 years when I will need something bigger!

I also looked at a c class coupe and sat in the back.I am 6 foot 1 and found it ok,then I saw an A45 sat in the back, fell in love with it,ordered one with and can't wait for it to arrive!!(C class coupe very nice though!)

sounds like a good plan, then you won't even need to do the man-maths in a couple of years' time, you'll already have the perfect reason to change to the next car :bannana:

It's ordered. C63 Coupe should be here in June / July. Can't wait!

Congrats Greggc78,

what spec did you go for? any discount?

AMG Boss Moers said in an interview that he would choose the C63 Coupe as his family car.

C63 Coupe, Selenite Grey Metallic, Premium Pack, 19'' Matt Black Cross Spoke Alloys, Privacy Glass

Got a little discount, 7% off before VAT. Came to about £3,400 so not bad. Think the discounts aren't too great yet on these as it's just out.

Yes Gregg. 7% is great for now. Car should be with you sooner than you would expect. Keep us posted.

Wow, that's great news Greg.
