Please can anyone tell me what the differences are between the new c350cdi and the c320cdi feel a little bit let down that i have had the car less than a year and a new engine variant is out

It must happen to someone. You can't get a gaurantee of no updates until your car is 2 years old!!

They should stop production for a couple of years before a change if they wanted nobody getting upset.

But is there any other difference than the badge (which you can be left out ;) )?

EPC does not care to list the 350 CDI, not yet at least. Perhaps it appears as a model year specific badge option for the 204.022 model?

On the E-class they at least changed the engine performance marginally, the C 350 CDI figures are exactly the same as previously for the C320 CDI.

In the S Class the power and torque remain unaltered and the co2 emissions have reduced 320 v 350 CDI.

the new E class 350 CDi has 7 hp more than the 320 CDi

I bought my clk in sept, knew by net reading and from mb fora the new clk / e replacement was out in june, but at the same time realised it would probably be of the more "brutal Design", which at the moment for me is too great a jump of style, however will probably grow on one.

Equally there would be probably new engine varients.

However, the one I bought has been on production run for sufficient time for problems to be iorned out, which for me is more important.

Some engineers say give a new model 18 months for the probs to be iorned out, or buy in the near run out period.

stupid part is i ordered in march 08 had to wait till end July 08 for the car because they wanted to get me a 2009 model year ...

also looking into it the engine is exactly same specs as 320 i dont get it could it be worth a complaint to MB ?

Did you not know at all that the C350 would be released?

I think most of the difference will be in lower emisions (maybe tax) implications.

Are any Added features 'free' in a C350 rather than a C320

Lets face it if you had waited for the C350 they will bring out something else sooner or later.

Think back to people who bought Sierra Costworths and over night ford slashed thousands off the price.

I doubt it you keep your car 3 years the value would be much difference bewteen the two. Enjoy your car its a great engine.

There's no mention of a C350CDi on Mercedes web site, just the 320CDi. Is this a new C class out now? Mercedes UK are very slow at updating the information on their web site. They still don't have all the info on the new E class, like the option to configure one. Still they have only had how many years to sort it out so must not expect too much.

I don't think the web site or stealers is is the place to look....

There never going to admit to new models being launched. Reading car mags, going to shows, surfing the net thats how come most of us know more than stealers when it comes to whats available.

Most new models are out in Europe months before the UK although they also have models we never get such as the 4matic mercs.

I'm sure the numbering system is entirely related to BMW having 335d and 535d, which, like Mercedes, are also 3.0L engines.

I think the E350 CDi is basically the current 320 CDi (224 hp) with a bit more power (231 hp).

Once they get the ultra high pressure piezo injectors in (like the have done with the E250 CDi), there will be a much more significant power increase and economy improvements.

The 2.2 diesel engine went from 170 hp in the 211 to 204 hp in the 212. So the 350 CDi new E should have at least 265 hp ...

If I was in the market for an E350 CDi, I would wait ...
